In the army now

I consider that a grammatically correct sentence. The previous sentence is more easily proven than yours.

Can you give me reasons?

Nope.

**** imo this thread is pretty much to wish good luck (or not) to Genk in his endeavorers.. the bad taste so many Americans choose to flaunt is outstanding but not surprising. Another arrogant attempt at lip service.

To make stabs at Canadian Military tactics, spending etc is old, it's well over played.. it's tiring and for christs sake this ISNT about AMERICA and how the 'country' could beat Canada in a pissing contest.

Maybe Canada would be treated more like a real country if it added a third color to it's flag like all us other big dogs.

Sorry Dayner, it's true. Write to the royal family and ask them to add something else to that bland green and white.

I still have his phone number in my phone, I am glad he has found something that he seems glad to be doing.

Although, I actually did do a double-take.

I will be the first to admit maybe what I said came off as somewhat arrogant and derisive, though it wasn't meant to be, but responding in a manner that only mirrors what you perceive me doing buys right back into silly power positioning.

Basically the first half of your paragraph would have kept my interest to discuss Canada's role in the world with you. However, after reading the second half, your attempt to power position by accusing me of power positioning greatly lost my interest and foreshadowed what was to come.

Oh and for the record, statements like:

Even my old geopolitics professor said in class "Canada doesn't really matter", jokingly of course, but with reasons of course.

Is not done in good jest and is what I call a half joke. Everything I said was said on purpose also as a half joke which you found funny enough to write a long post countering. So don't think about what I said but why I said them. I have no doubt you know more about geopolitics than I.

Maybe Canada would be treated more like a real country if it added a third color to it's flag like all us other big dogs.

This is funny and witty. Your professor with his 30 years of work may know a lot about Canada's role in geopolitics but he could use a refresher course in humour 101.

Point being I admitted that what I may have said is probably worth an apology, but coming back and saying things like "I cannot wait until the day you beg us for our fresh water resources... but I guess you will just invade if you don't get your way." and also assuming that America is somehow a place that magically elects morons to run things, as if it is assumed that Canada or other countries are lucky enough to escape this strange American phenomenon of electing a dumbass.

The point is that making the same mistake as me while in response to that mistake is probably something you should, I should, and everyone should be more aware of. Why? Quite simply because we are doing the same thing then, and we are going through the same motions, then the only difference is what you choose to input into that process - aka you vs. me, us vs. them - it is no longer about facts, its about where you are standing. This isn't an American phenomenon, that's a people phenomenon.

Because no one else wants to do it I guess:

Now, of course someone connected with the embassy would say this, but I would say its all fairly valid.

ON TOPIC:

Good luck in Basic Genk!

My water remark was as distasteful as your professors comment and as I said, it was done intentionally to hit a nerve. Because maybe comments like "Canada's army sucks" and "Canada doesn't matter" shouldn't belong in a thread where a member of this board is training to make a difference. Besides, invading for water?? Well that's as silly as spending millions blowing up a country for oil. How unheard of. (yummy more distasteful jokes!)

Also, politicians are morons by definition and Canada is packed full of them. Electing them is one thing, allowing them borderline dictatorship powers is another.

To comment on your new post before I post this, I will make things even more crystal clear. I am not interested in debating Canada vs U.S. world politics. I am interested in why people find it necessary to belittle and indirectly insult Genk in his own thread by insulting the Canadian army. And as soon as a Canadian retaliates with any negative comment about the American army, suddenly it's serious and everything said was a "joke" and the person retaliating is power positioning. I find it quite entertaining and at the same time patriotically pathetic.

Would internet and lulz be a sufficient answer?

Yes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset in the least. I'm just very stubborn and trying to make a point. Hell I love a good dirty joke, hell I love most things with a hint of dirt, but hearing somethings time and time again becomes boring. I have friends in the army, friends in Afghanistan who have been hit by bullets trying to help those in a war ridden country. We do not have the most guns or the biggest bombs but we are there doing what our country believes in. We are there as your allies and it gets tiring hearing that it just isn't up to your standards. That what Genk is doing just isn't up to your standards.

That is all, my work is done here.

Thanks Nyett =)

lol holy batshit, I make a post and it all goes to hell. Clearly QCDN cant support itself without me.

On topic in my own thread: we get off by 6 because we have to clean pods, clean all station jobs, do homework, and get ready for the next mornings inspection. As with what Gohaan said, we get it easy because its early weeks, they fucked up our scheduling so we are still doing stuff in week 2-3 that 0's have finished already.

Shame on you for making this thread into a shit storm.

In closing, I miss sex.

You're just jealous. I made you awesome.

I just had this random flash of Genk with gold teeth, filling the role of Damon Wayans in Major Payne.

"I'ma gonna make you buys STRONG!"

I got on the internet at USMC bootcamp, but that was because a drill instructor wanted me to fix his computer. The only thing wrong with it was that he didn't have a homepage setup, so when he opened internet explorer a blank page came up and he assumed it was broken.
