First off:
On September 27th, a mid-50s man walked into a school in Colorado and, towards the end of the day, held 6 girls hostage. He sexually assaulted them, and in a gun battle at the end, killed 16-year-old Emily Keyes then turned the gun on himself.

On September 29th, a 9th grade student took a shotgun and shot dead his principal a day after being punished for possessing tobaco.

Today, October 2nd, a 30ish milk truck driver took many girls in an amish school hostage, killing three of them then turning the gun on himself, supposedly as revenge for something that happened 20 years ago.

So...that's three fatal shootings...in less than a weeks time. What do you suspect has sparked this rash outburst of shootings. And, this isn't just based on these three. There's been 7 fatal shootings at or near schools since august alone, and many more non-fatal shootings. Why? Why is it that in schools, what should be considered safe havens for children, that we have to live in constant fear of the next psycho who decides to lock down a school and kill some students?
It makes me sick.
On a side note:

Why is it that many people in a high position of power blame their flaws on alcohol? Really, I doubt someone would get the idea to rape boys by taking a swig of whiskey. I can't name any other specific examples, but just watch the news. If some new scandel comes out, I'll bet that the person in the center of the controversy will blame it on...alcohol.
