InBev swallows Anheuser-Busch in $52bln takeover

Ok... you say its kinda lame...

Give me a reason why its lame other than nationalism.

Our currency in the US is down and its cheap for foreign companies to buy up American companies who's values are not properly adjusted for our current inflation level. Its just capitalism. Who cares if Bud isn't American any more.

I mean hell.. the empire state building just got sold again.. the german (i think) company that owned it just sold it to someone in Abu Dabi.

i dont have a good answer for that, it just doesnt sit right with me. could be a good move over all but..it was Americas beer

I heard about this on Colbert and I agree, it's pretty lame. I really hope they don't fuck with Bud Lite Lime cause that's the first lite beer I've ever had that didn't taste like absolute shit. Anyone else had it yet? It's really good.

Give me a reason why its lame other than nationalism.

Nationalism is a good enough reason.

I had to study this for a marketing class but the Budweiser name is a stolen trademark from the Budvar company anyways.

Also arguing from the point of nationalism is like using the argument "because i said so" aka you don't have an argument you just don't like it for some reason.

Also i can almost guarantee that the Czech version tastes better too.

What do you mean less money for americans... the stockholders just got their share of 52 billion and as part of the deal all of the american breweries are staying open... who is getting less other than the potential losses if the company continues to grow. This was a corperate buy out by people who saw what AB was doing and thought they could do it better and therefore turn a profit. This also gives them huge instant market share. Its not like AB was in trouble and had to sell... a good offer came along by a motivated buyer and they took it.

nope you will never know it happened...
