Infinite Undiscovery

I would expect a much better excuse than that for not finishing LO. I was ~80 hours in to the game, had almost all the sidequests done, had all the dlc, and then my harddrive died on my 360, so i lost everything.

Don't get me wrong, It's an awesome game probably one of the best RPG's i've played. It's just RL and stuff tends to take over with my life or I plan something on XI and then lose motivation. I'm going to beat it before I get either this or Vesp.

After looking at both Games in a battle, It seems they're very similar, out of 4 members you control one of them and use skills and what not, The only thing with this is that it's more "Realistic"? if you could call it that compared to Vesp which I guess is a bit "Cartoony". Although I say this IU's battle is more like FFXII where the enemies are on screen and you start attacking when you see one. (the vid showed ALOT of links), compared to Vesp which had a controlled battle zone.

The choice is quite difficult for me right now lol....

Vesperia has multi-player battles, with each person controlling a different character.

Vesperia it is then...me and my bro can run through it =D

I guess I'm the only one on the forum who has been wanting this more than Vesperia for a long time now. I actually can't wait for this, The Last Remnant, and Star Ocean 4.
I'm picking this up as soon as I see it on a shelf somewhere. I don't know, maybe I just need some time with the actual game (of Vesperia) but the demo rubbed me in the wrong way, maybe that's why I never really played my copy of Symphonia. Not saying it's bad, just that I'm more interested in IU.

I'm curious about it, most of the stuff I've seen just says it's nothing special, rather than it outright sucks. I'm sure I'll play it, but there's other games that I'm more interested in right now. The reviews are stopping me from getting it asap, but not stopping me from getting it all together.

i gotta say, i WAS looking forward to this more than tales, and thought the Tales demo sucked as well.
but now i am IN LOVE with Tales and can put this game on the back burner without hesitation.
I put in IU after work this morning and played up through about 4 battles, gagged over the voice acting and what seemed not so fun gameplay right off the bat, but its gonna be a bit before i can spend more time with it.
Gonna finish tales...but i have mercs 2, Warhammer, Viva pinata trouble in paradise all sitting here waiting...

If you like Tales you'd be better off buying a used copy of Abyss for PS2 than this.

Don't really see the point in buying a mediocre RPG for $60 cause it's on a next gen system when you can get a GREAT game for a fraction of the price. I used to be all 'high def or nothing' too but it's worth getting over. I'd just assume get this in a few years for $20 if I have nothing at the moment I feel like playing.

Except that they've improved on a lot of the aspects of Tales of the Abyss. Synthing is MUCH easier and much more controlled. There's no FOF's, but the new weakness mechanic is very useful. They finally have voice acting in the skits. The main character isn't a whiney little rich kid for the first half of the game, and halfway emo for the second half. I loved Abyss, but Vesperia is a superior game.

The only thing that Abyss really has over Vesperia is Jade Curtis, but Yuri, Rita and Judith make up for him not being in this one.

I just played about the first 20min of this game. This probably one of the worst rpgs I've played in a while so far. I hate the combat, graphics are so dark I can barely see(maybe it's my tv)Interface sucks. I'm try to play it some more but I don't think I care enough to keep trying.

Don't think you read my post carefully. I'm not saying to get Abyss over Vesperia. I'm talking about Infinite Undiscovery.
Ah you never specifically said what the game was, I figured you were still talking about Vesperia since people had been discussing that lately.

Supposedly the first hour os IU is mediocre, but it gets better lol. Well thats what the reviewers are saying anyway.

Yeah the first hour or so is pretty horrible, after you get out of prison and the forest the game gets better, at least in my opinion.

What got better in the first hour? This game just sucks.

I'm scared to buy this game, now.... D: I guess I'll wait until I finish ToV before I take a look at this more carefully, get some reviews from friends, etc.

I really like that a surprise attack on enemies really does something in this game. So far the story seems pretty good. One thing a lot of people won't like the fact that you have to be in a safe place to access the equipment menu and items. I like that the fighting is real time and not turn based.
