Info on Jobs and Adjustments

what im saying is that you 2 are jumping at shadows. and you seem to be the only 2 that think an ninjutsu sneak is a bad thing. what if the synth for the spell's tools is an alchemy synth? ever think of that? probably not. to busy swimming in the negativity pool.

i pitty those that only think of the bad that MIGHT come from something happening. and to top it off we have no idea when this will be added or what lvl the spell will be. if its 38+ all of your worries will be neglejent. and if its not, well the smart synthers will think of a new way to make money. thats how you seperate the men from the boys.

I never said it was good, the only way to make any money off stuff nowadays is volume, because the profit margin is so low on them.

Doesn't matter. You two keep saying it will destroy the alchemy stuff for silent oils. All I'm saying is, maybe it won't from comparing oil and powder rates.

Saying there will be a negative effect to adding in the spell is not the same thing as saying the spell is a bad thing. I'd love to have a sneak that will last a guaranteed 3 minutes, I'd love a sneak that I can stack up to 99 so I don't have to go to the AH as often; but that doesn't mean I'm blind enough to not see how it can hurt other people nor am I dumb enough to think it won't have an effect.

It's possible, but not likely seeing as how most of the tools are not alchemy synths. There's a 1/7 chance that it'd be alchemy, you're completely ignoring any negative side effects of the change and that's just stupid to do.

i pitty those that only think of the bad that MIGHT come from something happening.
And I pity those who are too stupid to see the blatantly obvious. I pity those who can't spell and use words wrong too, but I pity them less.

and to top it off we have no idea when this will be added or what lvl the spell will be. if its 38+ all of your worries will be neglejent.
Negligence has nothing to do with what we were saying, but if you had read what's been said so far that's been accounted for. The decrease in the usage of silent oils is a guarantee; the level of decrease depends on the level of the spell. I already mentioned that a few times in this thread, but given your lack of understanding of the obvious effects this spell will have on a craft, I'm not surprised you missed those parts.

and if its not, well the smart synthers will think of a new way to make money. thats how you seperate the men from the boys.
This coming from someone who's apparently so poor that silent oils are a big expense in your budget. I guess that'd make you an infant.

No, Skaw's saying that. I'm merely responding to morons who don't think that alchemy will be hurt by the addition of a ninjitsu sneak.

It will be affected, sure. Just maybe not as drastic as Skaw says then ;<

Who the hell is Sagis? They tried to rate me down while spouting off the same short-sighted crap as Zaltana.

and why is my view short sided. you say its stupid to ignore the negative side of things. i say its stupid to harp on them. like you are doing. you arent listening to what I am saying either it seems.

did i not already say that when one market rides that another one will falter? that is economics son. thats how the world works.

hypothetically speaking, if a form of gasoline that pollutes less and doesn't hurt MPG is made what do you think will happen to the gas companies currently in existence. they will be shaking in their boots at a competitor that will hurt their market. THAT is a drastic change.

new example: i have a steakhouse in a section of town. a new one opens a block away. is my business going to be effected? of course. now people have more options. should i just give up and close down? no. cause even though that new store has opened, people will still come to mine.

i agree with tyrath. this spell's arrival will not kill the the market for oils and powders just effect it. and has i have repeatedly said. you are jumping the gun. i say wait till the spell appears before telling the oils and powder synthers they are screwed. act on facts not speculation. which is all we have at this point.

Ofcourse Alchemy will still be useful. Just the current quick gil won't be as quick. All farmable ingredients for Silent Oils are pretty plentiful, thats the key as to why it's a nice product.

Just after Assaults killed potion and ether related markets, you'd think they wouldn't pull this fucking shit again. All thats left right now are really just Oils, Echo Drops, and Powders. Ofcourse, Powders are just an incredibly huge hassle to make, as items aren't really in stock, and not so quickly farmed. Goblin Masks aren't as plentiful as you'd think. And you either have to waste glass fibers from your desynths(or grind out a shit load of them from flintstones/meteorites) to make lenses, or farm Ahriman for theirs.

Except, that I'm not. The only one "spelling doom and gloom" for Alchemy has been skaw; the only thing I've been saying is that Alchemy is going to be hurt by this change, contrary to what you've been saying up until this point.

It's pretty rare for one market to rise up and destroy another. You don't see the Auto industry taking over the shoe industry. If the new synth is alchemy, then you'll have a point, but until then(and IF then as well) all you're doing is just ignoring guaranteed effects based on pure assumptions.

You're agreeing with me too, for the first time in this thread, actually; since I've been saying the exact same thing all along. I've only been responding to you saying(up until now) that alchemy would either not be hurt or alchemy will just gain a new synth to offset this loss.

If it's something like the bolded section it would be an interesting addition; but it would be significantly more powerful to a pld/blu/thf/dnc than to a rdm.
Stay away from are en spells. Rdm are the the only ones that can do spells upon weapons it stats that in windurst. It a by product of doing both white and black magic. Plus they would be depended on enhancing and 3 of those 4 jobs don't have enhancing.

Well first off they already have a tonko and prism, now they will have (%nin_sneak%) and oils. Be no difference in the values. Not to mention the tools might be alchemy made. Also new pup attachments which well also be most likely alchemy.

As a little bit of humor, anyone wondering what the sneak tools would be called? Shinobi Tabi (More or less Thief's/Spy's Socks) are already taken for Invisible (though I'll never know why), so one could only wonder what little tool they plan to use...

I think they should let us use Shinobi Tabi for both.

and you still aren't listening. in my first post i simply stated that harping on negative side of the appearance of a sneak nin spell is dumb. this spell is a good thing and im glad its being considered. and that if it hurts alchemy as bad as Skaw fears then those that rely on them for making money will have to adapt. as did i when the price on drops from some of the BCNM's i always did plummeted.

i said faultier not destroy. and comparing the auto industry with the shoe industry isn't relevant cause the 2 are unrelated. i used related topics in my analogies. i worked at an Applebee's that literally shared a parking lot with another restaurant of a similar type. before Apps arrived the other store was the only one of its type and business was booming for them. new store showed up so people now had to pick and choose. Store #2's business dropped, or faultiered, but did not die. that is the point i am making here.

what i'm saying now is what I've always been saying. think about what i'm posting first before just glancing over it and saying why i'm wrong.

Pet Food Zeta is 6k/12 at the moment or 500 gil for a bit more than 350hp, and a little more with AF/Relic. Recast is 3mins, -6s per merit and -10s from bonnet, so you can get it to roughly 2:20 recast with all that stuff.

I really wouldn't say "a bit more," with just a few pieces of MND, Monster Gaiters and Ogre Gloves, you can easily push 600. Then consider the regen effect, which can be boosted through merits as well.

Very good point (I honestly forgot about Ogre Gloves, blekh) but as I said, it still raises the question of if it's worth over simply recycling a pet or waiting on Call Beast Timer to go down.

Only really seems to hold a large benefit if you're forced to use jug pets and they're dying at an alarmingly fast rate or if you have a Familiar'd pet, neither of will really help BST as a whole at all since both instances are rather uncommon.

What is sam's 2hr again... Do they really need to ws non-stop

Yes... yes they do. You can never have a SAM weaponskilling too much.

I'm looking forward to the damage reflection spell. Looks like shield is going to be even more broken than it already is. /cheer
