Almost every time I zone from one area to another in Jeuno, I get the black "oOoDowloading DataoOo" screen like normal, but then it just STAYS there until I get FFXI-3001 error (connection with the server timed out). After a few minutes, I'll try again and get the same error.

The most aggravating part is that I can log in as my mule just fine. I called POL tech support and their only word of advice was to change my router port forwarding settings (which I did). That didn't fix the problem, and neither did disabling my router and hooking my computer up directly to the modem.

Even when I shut down overnight and try to log back in as my main, I still get the same problem. I've done a search on this and thankfully I'm not the only one having this issue, but no other forum has a suggestion other than change your router settings. Has anyone here had the same problem and been able to fix it?
 
I think I had that problem once... don't remember much though.. it stopped doing it soon after it started.
 
Are you having the issue only when in Jeuno? I wonder if there is a technical implimentation of the world that you are having issues with. For expample, each area can be on a different port and your service can be inhibited over that one port. If this is the case, I would report the issue to your ISP. Just a thought.
 
You can login on your mule, but can you zone? I know some firewall programs I ran in the past would cause it to stop when I tried to zone. Apparently it was trying to use a port that was blocked to load up the next zone.
 
I've made doubly sure to port forward all the applicable ports for FFXI and I even took my router out of the loop. It just isn't working.
 
at one time, one of my dat's got corrupted in the past... it was the shakrami zone one... I would zone and it would sit on the downloading data.. then crash

do a pol scan, see if anything is corrupt.
