Instanced areas exploit....WTF.

This could be used in enm and bcnm too?

Good thing about this cheat is that now that people can't do it anymore we might get more customers.

Nope, according to that BG link, only the zones which warp all characters involved into a specific zone at once, hence the list of areas listed in the update:

http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/polnews/news14780.shtml

Or:

-Ilrusi Atoll
-Periqia
-The Ashu Talif
-Lebros Cavern
-Mamool Ja Training Grounds
-Leujaoam Sanctum
-Zhayolm Remnants
-Arrapago Remnants
-Bhaflau Remnants
-Silver Sea Remnants
-Nyzul Isle
-Everbloom Hollow
-Ruhotz Silvermines
-Ghoyu's Reverie

Well for assault zones you could also use the trick I guess for the ???ring like divisor ring mission or w/e item you need. Or maybe the random beastmen's seal that drop. But assault is not really a problem, or the ashu taliff bcnm.

Hmm I was thinking about the assault chest too.

I don't know if anyone noticed but Hi-Reraisers droppes from 8~10k to 4k now over roughly 2 months. Coincidence perhaps, but just food for thought.

As for ??? items, the person who touches the chest first recieves the ??? item, it doesn't go to the pool. I have no proof whatsoever but I can only assume (by reading the BG thread) that only items that go to the treasure pool will work.

So this resulted in cheaper hi potion/ether tanks, increased angel/deathstones and so on and so forth as well?(ashut talif and assault are dupable apparently which extends the impact of the duping even farther) Given how much the stones have been dropping in price that means anyone that did the quests for the stones properly got screwed out of at least 100k~200k each rock given how low the prices went. I hope the prices go up at least a little so that I can make some of the gil back that I "lost" when i sold a gem or two previously with a mule.
Not only this but many people duping drops means that the rare ex drops sought after in the ashu talif assaults were obtained 3x faster meaning that groups whom left after obtaining the barb pants put forth 1/3 the items to be appraised that they should have. This in turn means less cerb hides, star sapphires , y. sashes, lolpup parts, and so on. In other words they made it exponentially more difficult to obtain these items and hurt the overall playerbase that would have benefittted from these items.

apparently they didn't do a maiintenance in The Ashu talif so I assume It wasn't possible to duplicate there.

They did. In all missions some chest(s) drop gem / gear plus ???item. Even though the ???items could probably not be duped ( pup attachement and barabarossa mufflers), the normal items in chest could (start sapphira etc) probably be duped.

So this resulted in cheaper hi potion/ether tanks,

Hipotion/ether tank values are fixed by the NPC sale values (Hardly anyone actually uses them) ~6.5k/21.5k. No matter how many appear on the market the value won't change as there is effectively infinite demand.

The thing I find the funniest, is that there were some on the BG thread that actually thought they deserved the benefits from the glitch. They fail to realize, tripling the droprate on anything essentially allows you do to 1/3 the work (anyone can have a really good run or two, but to do it consistantly takes real effort and alot of patience), if that. As far as effecting other players, more pieces completed means more crafting materials needed for the upgrades (think Khajit mentioned something to this effect). More demand = higher cost. The fact that everything on this server took a nose dive across the board (making the economy relatively the same, excluding a few things), yet O. Ingots and Imp Wootz Ingots barely dropped in price at all, should show you how it effects those of us not abusing this cheat.

It's tempting to do shit like this to get ahead, but this isn't survival, it's a damn game. If you are going to cheat your way through it, why play?

Well they didn't cheat. They exploited a glitch in which was in the game. They played the game and found a easter egg good for them. Games have had glitches like these for years. Take call of duty 4 you climb on certain walls outside of the game board in order gain access to roof tops. Or anyone remember the 100 life glitch on the original mario. Ban them lol, only person to blame are the incompetent coding engineers that did not catch the glich.

Us having the lowest economy figures are not because of this glich. In fact we have some the highest hq/rare prices cross servers. hq cost to much nq cost to little.

Please go over the ToS again, Whether you like or not SE states clearly that exploiting glitches in game can and will get your account suspended and even banned. There may not be many bannings over this since apparently SE doesn't keep logs after a set amount of time per character, but they can be banned, and since they agreed to the ToS to play this game, it is their own fault, not the developers.

They never ban anyone for exploiting a glitch. Sure it in there but only as a scare tactic or a cover there own butts clause. Do you not remember the av incident? Gm was right there when they walled it did anyone get ban? No. Or how about the pathing glitch for faust and despot? How many use that glitch? Yet to see any bans there either, in fact the gm laugh and said that he was brilliant for figuring it out.

You mean like an NPc thatbuys an item back for more than he sells it for? Hate to break it to ya but they banned people by the truckload for that.

There is a difference between a small glitch and a game breaking glitch.

They never ban anyone for exploiting a glitch.

Yes they do. There have been many cases of it.

Edit: I should read posts after the one I quote before answering it <_<

Not being pessimistic but you could not see if someone cheated just by looking at the price of ingot. Considering the demand is not enough. You need to consider the supply too. If the high supply is enough to make the demand, the price will remain constand and if the demand is constant but supply increases, the price will drop. Some basic knowledge lol. I suppose after this glitch thing is over, the supply SHOULD remain the same. So wait for 3 to 4 months, if the price did not drop then i guess you can say to a high chance that this server does not abuse this glitch.

Using a method that was not intended to be available, knowing that it wasn't intended, is on some level, cheating. But this is semantics (sp?). I guess I am a little pissed that they think they "deserved" this exploit, and the rest of us didn't. And it's not because of jealousy that I'm pissed, it's because these morons don't realize they are in fact doing ~1/3 the work (maybe 1/2 the work of the drones or w/e they were talking about, who just follow orders, and 1/3 or less of the players who research just as much, and run very efficient salvage runs, exploit free). If you find an exploit, fine use it I guess. But don't sit there and say you are still doing more work then anyone else not using this exploit.

Dudes get ban't because SE was too dumb to check their code.

Priceless.
