Interaction with Idiots

i'm reminded of a girl i went to highschool with...trippy should be able to understand how "....wtf?" this one is since he's from around this area. me her and some other friends were going to the movies in Oak Ridge, and we're driving seperately. I give her directions, she lives in south clinton (a few miles form my house). Keep in mind clinton is a relatively small town consisting of 2 bridges and 9 red lights. One of the bridges is big and green and is thusly refered to as, you guessed it, "the green bridge" the only major intercetion in clinton is just north of said bridge, anyway back to the story. i say "Leave your house, get on charles sievers blvd and head towards the high school. Once you get to the red light past the green bridge turn left and follow 61 west until you hit oak ridge. It's about a 15 minute drive. I'll meet you there." fairly simple right? go straight, turn left, go straight until you see the big fuckin "Oak Ridge" sign. Now the fun part...

Man, you can get lost on our Interstates!
Changing from I-24 to 840 isn't easy!!

are you ready?

keep in mind this has scared fully grown adults...

SHE ENDS UP IN FUCKING KENTUCKY
TWO HOURS in the completely OPPOSITE direction. this means she made 1 fatal error...she turned right at the red light instead of left...3 steps, was too much for her to handle...not only did she end up in kentucky...she was gone for THREE (yes, 1+1+1=3) DAYS. her parents reported her to the police as missing, it was on the news and all...

It's proven that men are worse drivers than women.. they even have higher insurance rates, ya know?

If a young white man dies, it's probably in a car wreck. If a young black man dies it's probably because another young black man killed him. If a woman dies, it was probably cancer.

See we are better drivers :P

Its easy to not wreck when youre going 30 mph in a 45 mph zone.

But lets be honest here....do i even have to say it....ok.....

OLD PEOPLE!!!! AHHHHH

I don't mean to sound sexist, but I work at a gas station and almost every time I see someone pull on the wrong side for their tank...it's female. I had one girl actually try 5 times before getting it right. >.>;

It's sad, I'm pretty sure people's IQ lowers about 50 points when they pull into a gas station.

Perhaps a very boring and uneventful sitcom... like Friends.

Oh wow...this thread is just gonna be a huge vent for how much idiocy I deal with. I work at a movie theater (hey, 18 years old and in college...what did you do?) and because people these days are absolutely helpless without being told EXACTLY what to do, I deal with idiots on a regular basis. Here's just a few stories to illustrate my flames of hatred...

I'm walking around the lobby cleaning as I so often do and a customer comes up and asks, "Where's theater 2?"
"Right there sir." and I point towards the theater....which has a giant 2 on it
"That one?"
...no, the other one with a 2 on it.
"Yes, that one sir."

Another one, this is why I HATE kids

Customer comes out and complains about kids switching seats and talking loudly, so I go in under the cover of darkness (yeah, i'm a fuckin ninja) and observe. Theres at least 6 twelve year olds switching seats and throwing shit at each other so I go up to one and say,
"Stop talking and stay in your seats, please." He goes,
"We weren't doing anything. We've been here."
I say 'fine' and leave. 4 mins later the same customer comes out and complains again so I go in and this time I'm pissed and I make sure they can see me watching them act like morons. I go up and say
"Your gonna have to leave."
"No we don't, we paid, you can't tell us what to do."
I stare blankly and then just reply "Get the hell out. Now."
They leave and one girl asks "Do we get a refund?"

Last dumb story...this one about refunds

We had that odd oil movie Syriana a few months ago. Most of the movie is in another language with subtitles and such. These guys go in to see the movie, watch the whole thing and come out and ask...
"That movie was horrible. Can we have our money back?"
"No, you watched the whole movie."
"Yeah, but we didn't like it."
"Don't know what to tell you, sir." <--what I HAD to say
Then you should've got your dumb ass up and asked for a refund 90 mins ago...

These stories, among others have shaken my faith in the entire human race. People can't even remember simple instructions like "theater 9 to your left" and get lost looking for their theater. These were all really idiotic to me at the time. I'll let you be the judge.

Here's one. Working at Border's.

It's the beginning of September. School starts tomorrow. Customer walks into the store, straight to the Info Desk (where I work).

Customer: "Hi, I'm looking for these books for Summer Reading." *throws a list at me.*

Me: *checks on the computer, and finds none in stock of any book.*"I'm sorry, we don't have any of these books."

Customer: *gets all feisty with me* Why not? These are Summer Reading Books, you should have some in stock.

Me: *thinking to myself 'Yes, it's no longer summer vacation, bitch.'* Well, I'm so sorry, if you would like, I can check another Borders. *Calls another Borders book store* Ok, I found another Border's book store that has one, but unfortunately it's an hour drive away from here.

Customer: Hmm, really? Nevermind then, I don't really need it.

Or then you get the people that walk into the store --- "Hey, where is the Sports section?" Oh, you mean that area with the giant sign that says Sports right there behind you? Lazy bum.
