Interesting conversation with co-worker.

Today I found out one of my co-workers plays on Sylph. So we chit-chat for about 20 mins and then he finaly asks what server I was from. So I say Quetzy..... He starts to laugh. While laughing he says "Oh man you guys got all those damn gil sellers, I dont blame you for quitting." He also later added "and your economy is real fucked up I hear.

So there you have it folks. Quetzy is known as the gil seller server.

This is not meant to be a flame, or me making fun of anyone. I am just shocked what other servers about Quetzy. I also have a friend from Gilgamesh, and their server is much like Quetzy is, so they dont really talk about Quetzalcoatl that much.

I'm sure that he is the only person on another server that knows this...

I will ask him on monday for sure. I know he told me the number of gil sellers they have, about, and he said that everyone keeps a close eye on them all the time. I dont know what that means either.
 
Rones is correct, through monitoring in various forums our economy is remarkably better than most servers, especially servers like Sylph and Fairy.
 
I dunno, it just felt bad when I said Quetzy and he automaticaly said gil sellers.
 
I'm originally from Fairy and it was a relief to come to Quetz and see the cheap prices of a lot of stuff. Raise II is one million there, last time I checked.

Yeah, I had a RL friend on fairy who kept complaining about the cost of stuff there. When Raise 2 was only 80k here, it was about 500k there, and that was almost a year ago. It's definitely worse now.
 
Just a thought wouldn't there have to be gil sellers in all worlds because obviously you can't trade gil across servers. Especially on the bigger servers like fairy that have a more demand for the gil therefore there would be a need for more gilsellers to meet the demand.
 
I know a pack of people from Sylph, and us being known as a gilseller haven is news to them. Heck, one of them is considering leaving Sylph over the problems they've been having there.

I have had this to happen so many times to me that when I'm asked what server..I just say Quetz and duck so I don't get laughing spray all over me. Not only are we known for Gil-sellers but we're well known for our tards, lack of progress, and many assume we lack skill. The only good thing I can think of on our server EVER is the special unique friends I made that I know I wouldn't have made elsewhere. When Quetzy finally does arise against its problems I will give much respect and props to that group of individuals for they have done the unimaginable at this point.
 
As long as ppl keep buying there are ppl who'd be selling gil.And there is a big number of players on our server who spend shit load of bought gil on equip that "looks good" lol forget about the one with stats ( Scorpion harness).Have u noticed almost every thf/nin and their mother have scorpion harness now.so if u don't like gil sellers stop buying gil/supporting gil sellers.
 
At the Ranger forum I hang out in, there's a thread of us all comparing various pieces of equipment. Quetz seems to be one of the lowest/most stable in terms of pricing. Asura and Fairy seem to be the absolute worst for infalted economy.

I think Quetz name gets out there more because, well, qcdn.org? And we collectively bitch about things into the ground on a routine basis? I don't know of any other servers that have a single forum community of this magnitude.

Like that time I was at the "More Friends" concert.

The dude I was sitting next to asked what server I was from, I said
"Quetzalcoatl"... And he's like "I'm sorry..."

What's that supposed to mean? "I'm sorry I can't meet you there."?

Or the latter? "I'm sorry you're on a shitty server"...

Hahahahahahaha

Isn't it funny how people on other servers know how bad our server is better than we do? :roll: We all have gil sellers. Our economy's prices are average to better than most other servers. Our HNM scene is bad like all servers, but is still better than many. Trying to judge the quality of players over an enitre server is blind guessing. Just be glad you aren't on hades. :wink:
 
I almost wound up on Cerberus and / or Caitsith when I started playing FFXI. Is that bad?
