"Seem to".
And the duration is more likely from your thunder/jupiters staff.
When a spell skills dark magic, its not gonna be affected by elemental magic, period.

Lets bring this into a different context. A dragoon soloer requires a changout of the headpiece for AF in order to trigger HB, and then they might want to macro in wyvern's Hhp gear, and possibly the AF2 helm to maximize Healing Breath's potency. With the .txts you can easily make all of the changeouts plus the spell needed for the healing breath trigger in one macro. If i made a macro for +wyvern Hhp and the spell, itd be more effective than having to hit multiple macros while im being beaten down on by the mob.

So if you are about to get in a car wreck, and you pass a red light in order to avoid the life-threatening problem, you're breaking the law still and should still be charged for passing a red light?
 
Windower macros could be considerably useful for Summoning magic, simply due to the silly amount of spells we have. Eight or nine per avatar, and nine avatars, adds up quickly. And that's excluding actually summoning the beasts, gear changes, job abilities, and white magic. SMN takes up three sets of macros for me, and I often have to delve into the fourth to retrieve various WHM spells. In the heat of battle it can get rather confusing - going to the wrong palette, hitting the wrong button (I have to keep a reference card handy to remember which button has which BPs), and similar mistakes.

Chances are I would have much less hassle with more lines per macro, but I'm not a cheater. Using Windower is one thing, altering your macros to an unfair advantage is another.
 
I cheat to have unrestricted access to my PC whilst playing a game, and so I can get more enjoyment out of the game and play more efficiently.
