Jely Inspire: *Glares at you* You're the only person online on my friendslist.
Jude the Rat: ^_^ I get around.
Jude the Rat: It was a rather...interesting day in Vana'diel for me o_o
Jely Inspire: Oh?
Jude the Rat: First party: It was awesome. I was partying with some people from QCDN and we were really gaining some exp chains.
Jude the Rat: I was even complimented for my White Magely skills!
Jude the Rat: The very next moment, I d/c
Jude the Rat: ;_;
Jude the Rat: 20 minutes later, I'm back but they have a replacement, of course...
Jude the Rat: So I head back to Jeuno.
Jely Inspire: Bastards

Now let me interject here that I don't fault my first party at all. I myself only have a 10 minute d/c wait time before I search for a replacement. I completely understood. And it was actually fun to party with Ecks for once, instead of just hearing about him!

Jude the Rat: I end up partying in the B. Tree with Curejaa the summoner.
Jude the Rat: I don't want to party with him ever again.
Jely Inspire: hehehe..
Jely Inspire: If I'm not mistaken, he's blacklisted.
Jude the Rat: He thought that DS + Raise had an effect.
Jely Inspire: ._.
Jely Inspire: Effing genius.
Jude the Rat: Told me not to haste, cause he'd take care of it (which he didn't)
Jude the Rat: Didn't know that the spiders' slow in the Tree wasn't canceled out by haste.
Jely Inspire: Genius
Jude the Rat: And actually had Carby pull a spider while a member of our party was still weakened.
Jude the Rat: Needless to say, seeing Minus die again within 5 minutes wasn't very pleasant...
Jely Inspire: I'm pretty sure Curejaa is blacklisted.
Jude the Rat: I can now see why.
Jude the Rat: All in all... I got about 1.5k for 2 hours of play ;_;
Jely Inspire: ; ;
Jely Inspire: Your luck is just really crappy.
Jude the Rat: I know.
Jude the Rat: I wonder who I've inadvertantly insulted...? My money's on Promanthia, myself.

Aside from frustrations of never knowing how to work around a summoner in a party - despite the common objection that "We aren't the main healer!" I've had too many parties wherein that's exactly the role that they filled (particularly when there was a white mage present) - I'm just so tired at my bad luck in FFXI lately. And this particular summoner had all the hallmarks of being a good player too: a rank greater than 5, multiple elemental staves, a selection of avatars... I just don't get why it was so slow going even taking my goofs into account.

Perhaps I should start carrying around a Four-leafed Mandragora bud with me now...

ya.. that sucks >< you can join Uzor, Artem, and I in our bad luck spree :D Uzor lotting a 1 on his Relic Armor.. Artem and I lotting a 0 >< hehe... and me losing nearly 100,000 exp in a week :D wootz!!!!

;; yeah i can blame the lousy RDM we have earlier who left party earlier for our parties problem... no RDM or BRD avail... took a SMN in hope that itd work.....it sorta did. sorry for making ya came out all that way just for a bit, just tried to get it to work with what we had. ;;

cure is a good guy tho.

Daresay, if it's your first time fighting spiders, you obviously wouldn't know their AOE slow eats through Haste. There's a difference between being a moron and being not-psychic.

Woot, yeah that was fun. It sucked you got d/c for so long ><. I ended up leaving shortly after though, i just got very tired all of a sudden and got a replacement for myself.

Good gear doesn't make a good Summoner.

I don't know...If I was in a party with a white mage I'd stick to major buffs like stoneskin/aerial armor to save people from sickle slash, pull and magic burst with my avatars along with some backup healing so we'd have non-stop chaining. Your summoner sounds retarded...please don't base us all off of them :cry:

Don't worry about that Sabia, I've seen you and other good Summoners in action. And as soon as I have Fenrir (in about a million years it seems), I'll be following that path as well.

I dunno. Is it feasible that a rank 8, level 54 Summoner has never fought spiders in the Tree before? Yes. But is it likely? Not at all. And even if he hadn't, there is always the responsibility to be a well informed player, especially when exp'ing at higher levels. I'll give Curejaa the benefit of the doubt, though perhaps he was just having an off night?

Curejaa has been playing for a long time, probably since NA PC release since I remember him giving a raise to someone in my very first ever XP party, just a couple months after NA PC release. I'm also pretty sure I've seen him in WHM AF around a couple times.

So unless he went through 60+ levels of WHM and 52+ levels of SMN, plus who knows how may other jobs, without EVER fighting a SINGLE spider, then the argument that he didn't know about the spider slow overriding Haste because he'd never fought them doesn't hold water.

Now, it's possible that he just forgot. I've done that sometimes, but I always remember after having my first Haste after a web attack take no effect, heh. Regardless, that doesn't explain the pulling while a member is weakened, which resulted in that member's death for a second time. Nor the blatant misinformation that Divine Seal enhances Raise (it absolutely does not- many people have tested this, and saw no change in either xp loss or weakened duration).

I guess that's true, but some people, even if they've played a LONG time, have never partied in (x) area or levelled of off (x) monster. I partied in Western Altepafor the first time just last week, and I'll have officially been playing a year as of early March.

Then again, hearing how much Curajaa's played, that may or may not have been the case. *shrug* But alot of times it is...
