Sortaow ondering if anyone at the forum knows a lot about computerstuffs, cause I'm having the following issue -

Few days ago, uTorrent did an update, and was afterwards unable to access any outside connections. Firefox did an instant-update the same day and afterwards, it was completely unable to connect to the internet as well.

PSU can't access the net, FFXI can't access the net. They're all listed as exceptions under Windows Firewall, but that doesn't seem to fix it...I checked if it was my router by plugging diectly into the modem, that didn't fix it either. I disabled Norton, still no good. Is there some cache or file that marks programs so it can't access the net or something?

Help would be greatly appreciated...I'm not at all computer-savvy so I'm sortof out of ideas as to what could be the cause. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this. =/

Your local IP may have changed (the 192.168.x.x) so you might have to re-forward your ports, if you had them forwarded in the first place.

What exactly works on your PC at this moment?

I've found a stack reset seems to work well in flushing things that might change, DNS entries / ARP tables / etc. Doesnt sound like your problem but it's worth a shot.

Start » Run
cmd
netsh
int ip reset resetlog.txt
exit
exit

They recommend clearing winsocks and re-installing TCP/IP after this but those are generally unnecessary steps outside of extreme cases.
