ok, since the past week or 2, every night around 8-10ish my internet would just go out, come back around 12am and then stay up untill next day, i dont have a router hooked up, i did and it didnt do anything, so...

im curious, for canadians, are there any better internet then MTS DSL? if so suggestions? (manitoba area... winnipeg if u know even more detail)

any info will help, thanks

sounds like something that is on a timer may be causing your disconnecting. believe it or not, it can happen

Dood, Mts sucks get Shaw highspeed. And have you tried kicking your router?

This is after the patch, no?

After the last patch, I DC'd A LOT. Sometimes upwards of 3 times per 10 min. It wasn't because of my router or anything. Weird thing was, everyone with my ISP had the exact same problem. Both PlayOnline blamed the problem on either us, or the other company.

Then, after last patch, the problem dissapeared, meaning the problem was likely with SE.

Might be the same problem I had then ~.~ Only solution I found was to constantly cross your fingers that you won't DC xD

For me it was always worst around prime time in the area I lived it, which is why I thought that it might be my ISP's fault.

But to be honest, I think its between the ISP and SquareEnix, somehow... I did a static IP check to google.com and found out that every time I DC'd, a packet was lost, which strenghtened my suspision that my ISP was to blame. SquareEnix connection reliability is rather strange and bad, so instead of checking that data was delivered correctly, they send each packet twice, so I'm guessing then sent them at the exact same time, thus resulting in both of those packets dropping.

For me, I could still most of the time see everything everyone else was doing just fine. party chat, alliance chat, tells, etc. I just couldn't do ANYTHING myself, and then I got a "Time out reported by server" error. Probably because the server figured I DC'd since I didn't send a "information recieved" packet back to the server.

All of this, naturally, made me blame my ISP, but I find it odd that the roblem would be completely gone after the last update, which makes me kind of wonder if it really was my ISP, and that makes me kind of confused as to what the problem really were ~.~
