Right then boys, girls and whoever else. Set up a wireless network and all the rest of it through my pc, fine and dandy, 80% signal strength from here, seems to work.

So then I go out and buy a wireless thingy ma bobby for the xbox to pick up the network, plug it all in, now heres where the trouble begins. My Xbox Can find and connects to my wireless network, but when it trys and registers the IP, it shouts abuse at me and begins playing silly bugger and doesnt get an IP address.

Now I havnt played around with this yet as tbh I havnt been arsed to, however would like some suggestions to try when I can finally be arsed. I've already thought about, bringing my xbox up here and trying and trying to enter the ip manually on the xbox, any other smart ideas?

My wireless network is allowing other things to connect to it as long as the passwords correct, however, like I said, connecting isnt the problem as it does that fine, its finding the IP address.

The website, it does nothing!

I hate wireless connections... i love 24foot cables running through my house :'( though it looks shitty it works for me... i have never had good expeirences with wireless :\

If you search around a bit you can find people with other problems similar to your, especially with a wireless router. Typically no matter what the case my be your xbox settings for IP/DNS settings should be set to automatic. Usually it doesn't involve changing those numbers around to manual. Anyhow when I had similar issues I believe I found info on the internet to my problem. Sometimes specific routers wont work with the xbox, adleast back when I used them.

Is your wireless router Xbox360 compatiable? The Router must have the "360 logo" on the packaging for it to work with the 360.

lol Since when? I have a regular Linksys Wireless-G router and it works fine with my 360 and there is no logo on the box of the router.

They'll claim you "need" an Xbox-ready wireless router, but I'm sure 99% of the non Xbox-ready routers will work just as well.

They all use the same ISO standards for wireless links, they follow the same DHCP standards, the same IEEE pinouts, etc.

Thats what it says on their website. I have no idea since when..lol. I use only wired connections, more reliable.\

Here is a link.

It just means that those are guaranteed to work, with minimal effort. Sort of like Video Card drivers and certain programs conflicting, while others are perfectly fine.

My router has neither a Nintendo WiFi Connection, nor Xbox 360 compatibility logos, and it works perfect.
