I use Denon AH-C700 earbuds and JBL Reference 610 bluetooth headphones for listening to my music from my ipods/iphone. I've had those for a while now, so I haven't really looking in to much else for just headphones lately. I have a pair of bose triports that I never use anymore, Bose is always good at mid ranges, but their highs and lows are subpar.
There's the style of headphone you'll want to consider if space is a concern. Earbuds and around-the-ear style(ATE) generally sound the best, but ATE's are generally much more bulky. On-the-ear(OTE) has a less sound quality(since they don't block out outside noise as well, but they're smaller than ATE and a lot of them you can collapse to make them even more portable. The best in portability is, of course, earbuds; but you have to be careful about losing the rubber tips(never, ever buy the hard plastic earbuds; not that you can find them if you're looking for quality sound anyways) and you or others might be less inclined to share them if that's a concern.
Also, do you want them to be wireless, or do you want active noise canceling? I honestly thing noise canceling is a massive waste of money, especially since most people who get them hardly fly; and flying is really the only place where you might need active noise canceling. You still really don't need it, I've flown with my Bose Triports(OTE style, no noise canceling) and with the headphones on, but no music playing, I couldn't hear the plane's engines at all.
I will say this though, in general, the more expensive headphones WILL sound better. Unless you get some kind of special feature(wireless, noise canceling, etc) a $100 headphone will sound much better than a $50 headphone, which will sound much better than a $20 headphone, and so on. I'm actually looking at buying a headphone amplifier to really push my headphones.
Those Grado SR60i's look like a good headphone; they're one of the top picks on headphone.com; which has some good information if you're still going to look.
