Went and checked it out last night. I'd give it good reviews lots of action a bit of how he came to be story but not long and drawn out to where your bored off your ass. I feel it was worth my few bucks of a movie ticket.

Right now, Iron man is the best reviewed movie of 2008 on rottentomatoes =P

we went and watched it lastnight.. and it was waaay to drawn out.. and if you add up the action.. mebbe 20 mins of the movie.. mebbe.. Could have had better actors but meh.. it had some funny parts.. overall .. i could have waited for the dvd but the tickets were free

Awesome Movie. Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect Tony Stark once you see him in action. I appreciate this movie because I grew up reading Iron Man and I feel they got this right. Great special effects and perfect one-liners that capture the true Stark. Seriously, this movie did flying and action way better then Superman Returns. Which is sad.

Actually we had an 8/930/midnight screening i went to the 8 wasn't that crowded but was still a nice movie for the not to frequent movie goers :D

Angilis , ill give you that.. but .. i dont know.. i just seemed like it was missing something .. i dont know maybe its just me.

Hey it's cool! To each his own. IMO though, it's the best thing since Batman Begins. My order goes Batman Begins(greatest comic book ever), Iron Man, Spiderman 2, Spiderman 1, Batman, Superman 2.

I saw this last night too along with the new Harold and Kumar, loved both, definitely gonna be seeing Iron Man again in the theater.

OH BTW stay after the CREDITS!!! It's worth it, I promise lol.

lol, thanks for the heads up Anglis. Hopefully I'll be able to see it later tonight.

I think the reason people find it missing something or drawn out is because they are comparing it (maybe even subconsciously) to X-men and Spiderman whch have really shoddy loosely put together plotlines but incredible action packed sequences that make you not care....

The difference with Iron man (and i saw it last night also) was you throw in Jon Favreau, A name thats becoming bigger and bigger with director under his title and you get exactly this..

Solid Character development
Solid plot
Solid flow

The formula was almost generic but it was safe, I guess if i had to try to bash it, which is hard because I really liked it... I would say...

X-men left me wanting more because there was so much great action

Iron Man left me wanting more because there wasn't as much action as X-men.

Ninja Edit: I missed the end of the credits, someone please spoil it in PM

If this didn't turn out to be like Xmen or spiderman 3 then I can't wait to see it. If it did turn out to be like those then I'll get my gun ready and start killing.

The problem with X-men or any team based movie is this; you have too many characters to try and develop and only 2 hours. One of the big characters is always left out and that makes people angry (Cyclops the leader of x-men had virtually no plot, and wolverine dominated the movie).

Which is why these movies work. Spiderman for example had great action and character development. Batman, same. Iron Man same.

You can't look at comic book movie plots. They are all generic, thats a marvel/dc comic in general. You have to get past that and look at character development and did the actor capture the comic book feel? Did the action live up and do anything new? Iron Man being generic, well because all comic book stories are, passed with flying colors with Robert Downey Jr. playing Stark and the action was outstanding. That movie makes you really really like Tony just like Spiderman (the first 2, not the last one) made you really dig Peter.

Yeah i learned that lesson with xmen3 to stay after the credits...
Spoiler:
Samual L fuckin Jackson was there lol

I'm told it's very good :P and that it was actually COMPLETELY directed and such by Marvel (unlike Spider Man, X-men, etc which was approved by Marvel but directed and all that by people from whoever published it)

That's probably why I liked it so much. I am going to see it again. There are many signs that say that this movie is really in the marvel universe. To me it makes the movie seem more grand. I would say more but I don't know how to use the spoiler tag.

Of all movies I've seen on the theaters, this one had the most people stay for the credits. I wish they implemented 1 more heroic scene. I hope this comes out on Blu Ray.

Just saw it tonight, and I loved it. RD Jr was the perfect person to play Tony, and while I didn't mind the guy who played Jim Rhodes, I thought they could have done better. I just can't wait for the next 3 movies to come out.
