Or are Paladins just not very desired in 70+ XP parties? >< It's becoming rather frustrating to spend hours seeking for nothing... And then to hear people talking about the great Cannon/Roaming/Rampage party they had the other day. :/ It's getting to the point that I'm considering quitting since I rarely get to XP my favorite job.

You are right. Pld doesn't serve much purpose in 70+ parties, especial 74+ when people can sub nin for ni. Its just a waste of a spot that could be better filled with a dd/nin. Everything you fight at that lvl is VT or barely IT which doesn't warrent a heavy tank.

Hopefully things will improve for pld with the upcoming job changes.

70+ is hard for PLDs because NIN is far more preferred. Negates the need for a WHM and lessens downtime. Every PLD suffers through this period unless they're in a static. NINs aren't even necessary after a while.

I've had some good paladins 70+ before. I remember one friend of mine, I'd hit him with Regen and not have to cure at all, he'd do it all himself. Sometimes he'd click off Regen just so he'd have something to heal, lol. But Raes, you're a awesome PLD(And a kickass guy in general.) You can tank for me anytime <3

[invite to join party] [ninja] only
and he is a whm u do not need a whm with a nin preety simple
nin + rdm
pld + whm
plds have a hard time but then end game nins fail ^.^ well not fail but are not as good tanks on those DA TA etc mobs or kiteing as there hate sucks
also if u want to own nins lv staff for the mp it works well and -20% damage is great

It is very true, and very sad; the best advice I can give you is to convince Reya to static. It took me a long time to go from 72 to 75 with PLD and I only made it that far because of the help I got from friends that staticed with me back then. Also I wouldn't do anything till we see what happens with the job "Balancing" there may (or may not) be some sort of a shift depending on what is done. Either way I would wait until we see what they do, before you decide to quit.

The thing I always found most ironic was that the jobs that try to avoid exping with a PLD are generally jobs that get Osodes from Kirin. However, there are also a lot of good players out there that will gladly exp with a PLD, find those people and get them into a static. :)

Also at your lvl range KRT is a great place for PLD and the exp only starts to die down when someone in the party is 75, a normal setup can get 5k+ per hour there IF it isn't packed by mnk parties.

Great paladins doesn't need much healing, although i have no idea how did they pull that off. I remember Jamal was able to completely shut down those moves by the dalmels in bibiki bay, and Brianfist just tear those bones apart in KRT with black halo.

Is it because of capped shield + parrying or there's actaully some tricks to counter the mob's move? like flash right before it's TP move?

Or it could improve with new exp zones and different styled monsters. Like one that attacks really quickly, but doesnt do too much damage. A NIN would have a hard time with somthing like that, but PLD would just throw up the def, and laugh at it.

Right now NIN is prefered because that while they're tanking, they're doing damage too. While PLD do damage, its not enough to really make a difference.

That is actually evidence that the pld is not needed. If so little healing is needed, you would be better off without either the pld or heavy healer (whm in this case). I have never had a party with a pld at 70+ that could compare to cannons and rampage parties. At best they get 1/2 to 2/3 the exp.

Invite my BLM sometime and I'll party :P I party with anyone, not that picky, heh <.<; And btw, instead of seeking, maybe you should start your own parties? ^^

I've tried. :/ Sadly, it seems that whatever time block I actually seek during, all the WHM/Refreshers are actively hiding from me, and/or (in the case of the latter mostly) holding out for a better offer. :/

Cute.

I just wonder what people expect Paladins to do once we actually hit endgame and people start asking us to tank things but they won't invite us for XP parties...

As a WHM I can honestly say I can not stand paladin tanks. They are so god damn needy. A good ninja is self reliant, with one I can easily haste 3 melees a battle. Slap down a Regen or so and my job is done.

Just start going PLD/MNK or PLD/NIN and rape the mobs. I've been considering getting MNK up just so I can try PLD/MNK to see how much the stats/Counter helps me out. Not to mention, Chakra, Dodge, Boost, and Counterstance (do they get this before 37?). HP bonus alone is tempting.

PLD/NIN dual wielding a Company and a Joyuese for damage output and keeping yourself healed/shadowed I've heard is a fun way to get through the tough times of finding EXP 74+.

Galka PLD 4tw.

And this is why WHM should be with PLD tanks. Because WHM are dead weight in a party with a NIN. A second RDM or a RDM/BRD combo is far more beneficial when you get down to it. RDM can Haste a NIN and with the one less Refresh to handle you can even fill that 6th slot with something with a large damage output to speed up fights. WHM really shine when they have something to cure instead of being a Regen/Haste/Leech.

SMN are the ones who should hate main healing PLD.

Actually, you don't tank anything endgame either except for a few select mobs. At least not efficiently as a Ninja or Warrior.
