I know there are alot of you who are good at making yourself look like you have different armor etc etc. Would it be possible , on my end, to make my Elvaan appear as a taru taru on my screen? If so imma have some fun :o Please if you have any idea what so ever how to do this let me know ;) or if you know it isn't possible shot me down so I can quit trying to figure it out :evil:
 
What do you mean?

You can still buy tarutaru mochi that will turn your character into a little tarutaru kid. ^^

he means what .dat files does he need to fuck with to make him look like a taru clientside.. i wouldnt mind figuring out how to change my race clientside either ^^
 
There's a person on this board named Kyrial that knows how to mess with those files. Might wanna PM him/her.
 
If you download the model viewer (http://www.autm8.com/Folye_of_Windurst/index.html), you can check for yourself with .dat files are for which armor. The little box in the corner says what the file name is.

There are only two problems with doing this. First, every single character wearing the same armor will look the same way. You can't change something for -just- your character. Second, you'll have to change every single .dat file that uses the Elvaan model, otherwise you'll see some very strange things when you wear different armor (such as having a body with Taru legs and an Elvaan body). So you'll never be able to see another Elvaan - they'll all be Taru.

You can do it, yeah, but it's a lot of work...

Yes, all of that has ben taken into consideration. Thanks for the link and info. As for the rest of you, thank you as well. I basically quit this game so messing up is somehting I simply don't mind :o and if I do totally wreck it I can just re-install.

Oh believe you me if I , with as smal knowledge on the subject as I have, get this to work I will 8)
 
If you are interested in modding your .DAT files, check out this site. I get most oy my model mods from there, but keep mind there are a good number of them at that 18+ and not work safe. :wink: Click the orange paper icon under pictures to download the file, not all are available to download. You will also need a JP->English translator to know what the piece is, and then use model viewer to see where the file goes. Many of the back pages of that site have very good mods (page 3 is good).

Actually, Could I alter the .dat files to give myself a different hair style? I'd change my hair style ingame if SE allowed it, but until they do, this might be the only way; no damn way I'm restarting.

You wont/can't get booted for altering your data files. They are only saw client side. Besides, they allow packet sniffers what makes you think they care about your hair :o
 
Yes you can Baj. If you look through that website, you will find that female hume and mithra are a couple of their favorite face models to change. I have swapped about 1/3 of the female face models already. Keep in mind only you see the change.
