I wouldnt think so. The attack bonus would be what you would get anyways from using a Mermans earring. So virtually you are comparing 6 str to +6% crit or 7/9 acc.
 
6 STR 6attack then ?
 
Assuming its the same as for the great axe + supremacy earring then yeah.
