Is my character still there?

Hey, I'm coming back to XI around my birthday (April 27) and I really don't want to buy all those things again, create a brand new character, and all of that. So, I'm wondering, is my character still going to be there even though it's been nearly a year since I even played?

I don't think I deleted everything, I believe I just stopped my account so I wouldn't be paying when I'm not playing the game. I mean, I wouldn't mind if I had to start over, chances are I'm going to anyway, but I don't want to have to buy everything over again. I will...but man, that would suck.

So how long do characters stay if you only stop your account and don't delete the actual characters themselves? I heard and I'm sure I saw Square-Enix say it would be there forever (or a very, very long time) until you got back. By the way, just to prevent any flaming, I didn't put this in my other thread I made recently just because it's totally off topic, I didn't want to get in trouble with Sculli or any other MODs. :nyam: Thanks in advance, guys 'n gals.
 
I think it's a 3-month cutoff from the date of Content ID cancellation, before they delete the damn thing and free up the in-game name as your gear dissipates into nothing but memories.

I could be wrong though.
 
Eh, I think I'll just buy it again. It's my birthday anyway, so I guess a little extra money won't hurt that much. I mean, I'll try, it's not like it's going to hurt me to try. But I doubt it will work, I haven't even logged into PlayOnline for a long time now, I can't even remember.
 
I quit for about 6 months at one time. I came back on totally prepared to start all over. Then i saw Makelith was still there. I dont know if its a fluke but it may not have been >=/
 
SE are off my christmas card list. I rang up 3 weeks ago to restore Cleofis, they said 7-10 days, yet an LS member had it done the same day they rang. I blame the fact im in Europe. I rang up again last week and asked where my character was? They said it'd be done by the next day. Still no character :(.
