if he try to sell them for profit, then the amount is too small to make any real profit.

Do they not fucking understand the repurcussions? Australia is home to so many "Feral" creatures that were smuggled there that have dwindled away the countries native species. Seriously, feral goats, feral pigs, feral cats, feral llamas...

The man was frikkin' stupid trying to smuggle wildlife etc. in to the country anyway.

And I understand their view of not allowing the smuggling of animals. There's actually a lot of cases of species going endangered because of the introduction of a new species, or the introduction of a disease which the animmal at the new place has not come in contact with before.

As an example, European tigers (or lion or whatever, don't remember which type) is almost completely gone, and only live in very small groups near Spain. Why? Because of a doctor deciding the rabbits destroyed his garden, and thus gae the rabbits in his garden a virus which killed the rabbits. What he didn't expect was the virus spreading like a plague and almost completely wiping out the rabbit population in more places then just his garden. Said rabbits were the tigers (or lions or whatever) main source of food. So when these rabbits became scarce, the ferals died almost completely died out from not getting any food.

Another example is the seaworld. Soem species of crabs etc. have almost gone extinct because of the introduction or new crab species.

While you might see this as a joke and say its not that serious, it is actually a quite serious offense and can put an entire echo system in jeapordy.

edit: I'm pretty sure its the European Lynx, and not tiger or lion :p just couldn't English remember the name of it.
