It wasn't really MPK... was it?

Resurrection LS vs. Keizan:

Both ls's were at Xolotl today the mnk in our ls had been camping this NM for awhile now, we had ToD or at least he did, and he asked a few of us to come down, so about an hour, to an hour and half later Xol pops and Kaizan gets claim, so we wait for them to kill it so we have ToD again, but during thier fight thier ninja got charmed and our BRD/BST (not saying any names) sent his pet after thier Ninja... No one in pt told him to do it, he did it on his own accord. He was of course laughing about it which we all thought it was a little funny, but thier ninja didn't die, no one did in fact. Well then our Drg some how got charmed and was sent after thier Ninja. Nothing we could do about that part, and I don't think it is really MPK, its not moral... but not MPK imo. SE wouldn't have made it to where outside pts could attack a charmed person if it was considered MPK. And also another thing I thought I would mention was that if you consider this MPK, don't blame the LS for something one person did, thats just dumb.
And on a 2nd note:
o.O Ppl in Besieged get charmed and we kill them, thats not considered MPK >.> but this was... someone wanna explain that to me?

I'll take a crack at your inquiry if you can tell me where the flame is in your post.

How does he still have 0 posts?

Also no it's game mechanics I would show you a chat log between my friend and a GM but I don't know if he'd want me too but anyways this guy claimed bats on my friends Pallas as soon as he popped it (popped NM) so the bats would charm them which it did and they got killed and they stole the claim. GM told my friend it was part of the game mechanics and it was a legal technic (not a MPK or anything else) even though it was a poped NM and all. So no that is a technic and apparently it's legal otherwise they would change it.

Well it's really a matter of what kind of player you are. The large difference between MPKing a friend or a stranger in something like Besieged and at the site of a regular NM pop is that in Besieged, there is nothing at stake. The dead person will not lose exp, Besieged won't crumble and fall apart because that one tank bit the dust, and no gear, gil or otherwise rides on the outcome. With an NM in the scope of the real game (which, let's be real here, is a hell of a lot different than Besieged), while you and your buddies may think siccing a pet on their tank was terribly amusing, I'm sure they didn't and if I were in their shoes, having claimed fairly, I wouldn't find it funny either. You get into the slippery slope of what kind of behavior an LS condones in the presence of other players and the Quetzy community in general. It doesn't say much for a linkshell's ethics if they allow or condone their players to stoop to something pretty petty because their members didn't happen to get the claim themselves. I don't know your linkshell, and I'm not making any judgement calls on how your leaders feel on the subject. I'm telling you straight based only on what you've said here.

As for the member that got charmed, the fact is when your ls lost claim, you should have all gotten the hell out of the way. It's a known, and pretty widely practiced courtesy that if someone outclaims you in a legitimate way, you are a good sportsman about it and you move away so as not to hinder or sabotage their efforts. You can still get a ToD while being out of charm range. If you're within charm range, you're crowding them. Accidents happen sometimes I guess, but when you're telling me "well this one unnamed member thought it would be cute to attack their tank while charmed," I'm thinking it was an incident that could have and should have been prevented.

So to answer your question, was it an MPK? When you aren't in their alliance and that bst sent his pet off on their charmed tank, yeah that could be construed as an MPK attempt. If he was doing it because their tank somehow attacked him and it was self-defense, then that's one thing. But that was clearly not the case. And I'm pretty sure if a GM had witnessed it, that's the conversation he'd be having with that bst. The tank didn't die obviously, and I'm sure they killed it just fine, so in the end no harm done. But I would question people's sportsmanship for lack of a better word.

its Xolotl...if someone gets charmed there, they're fair f'n game. Especially now that charmed players dont lose xp. Man up, and dont bitch about digi-deaths.

They're fair game if you're a total asshole. And most of the players worth anything in this game aren't that, and even the good ones who are assholes at least have the skill to get their own claim in the first place.

you didn't mention your friends name but im willing to bet its someone whose name has come up before in situations like these....

Anyone thats done xolotl before knows that it will eventually will do AOE charm, knowing this several people have stayed close to intentionally become charmed and potentially cause trouble for the other linkshell.

If it is who i think it is, this person knew full well what Xolotl is capable of and i would repremand them and issue an apology. Ive seen this exact instance escalate into a feud that made getting an honest claim at xolo impossible.

riiiight, cause theres skill in claiming. Skill went out the window with that goofy friggin delay they put into the claim system. Not to mention (note: not saying this was the case here) them those claim bots. Theres a reason X is a skeleton/corse, cause that place is supposed to be a graveyard.

Kinda dissapointed here. Xolotl is made for interesting drama that happens quite often, to make it to the FB I was expecting somthing actually worthy of being talked about. No one even died? This fails.

Not going to have the whole bullshit "what is a skill" discussion again, it's going on ad nauseum in another thread. Call it timing w/etf you want. If it involved no skill for lack of a better word then any random jackass could do it. You put the same two people, one with a claim record and one without in proximity of an nm pop and 9/10 the guy who has a history of claiming is probably going to outclaim the random shmo. And that's talking legitimate claims.

Bottom line is, the players who have a good reputation and are considered exceptional players are the ones who are above having to make this distinction between "is it mpk or isn't it." I assure you that a player with any kind of personal standards or sense of fair play isn't going to conduct themselves in that manner.

GM's say if it's in the game it's fair play or they would fix it. It's a tactic in their terms. Tactic's rather they are to your advantage or not are fair play.

Blancho, the first thing is, that's bullshit. Because if everything "in the game was fair play," nothing would ever get altered/maintenanced/changed. Until you've had a GM stand next to you under that circumstance and tell you that, you wouldn't know. Perfect example is Pallas. They altered the pet charming situation w/ Pallas because of people getting mpk'd with the whole charm deal. If it was so ok with SE why would they have changed it?

Why would they have altered Pallas and not Xolotl? Who knows. Because it's half-assed SE? Because gilsellers are after gil drops and not R/E gear and RMT are more likely to act like that? But they did change Pallas which means that yeah, just because you can still do something like that at Xolotl doesn't mean you should or that a GM call wouldn't be in order.

Until they change it, it's a tactic or in other words until there's enough GM calls about it, it's fair. None the less a GM won't ban or take any action towards someone who does it. They may eventually change it but unless they ban because of it they obviously don't think it's breaking any rules therefore being fair game.

No it's not really MPK as such but it's common decency not to do it. You're just showing what type of person you are by doing such a thing. Then again this is Resurrection LS so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

You and this phlame phail horribly

Fucking resurrection is becoming worse than RMT at this point. Start controlling your fucking members because what if the BRD/BST lost charm on the antlion? Chances are that antlion would still attack the ninja after charm then go after others in the Kaizen alliance because the mages would have been curing the tank.

Moral ethics says if you didn't get claim too fucking bad sit back and wait for wipe if Kaizen were to wipe.

If you even have to ask this question, then whoever did it is probably a jackass.
