I'm making a list of items to have for those just in case / emergency / convenient items for my invintory and was hoping some people can add to my list. It might just help out others too!
I forgot most of the proper names for the items, but i'm sure you'll know what i'm talking about.
1. Invisable Potion
2. Sneak Potion
3. Deodorize
4. Re-rasie earring
5. Antidote (Remeber all those early level times with that damn Lizzie poisoning us and dieing? ><)
6. Echo Drops ( If you're a mage and need to heal to stay alive while trying to make it to zone i guess)
7. Signet Staff ( Names way off )
8. Warp Cudgel

If anyone can remeber or think of any other items that would be handy to have, anything at all, please post! ^^

elemental staves, failing that, Pilgrims wand.

Ether (Always keep one on me)

Windshear hat (Fasion purposes)

4 leaf mandy bud (superstition)

Dream Hat+1 (FREE COOKIES)

ectectect

I carry Echo Drops everywhere I go.

The earring just does RR1 doesn't it? RR Hairpin, lvl 60, all jobs, 10 charges of RR2, 100k.

Also if I'm parting under lvl 40, I take food for other jobs in case I run into Newbies that just don't know any better. Pies for mages, Rice Dumplings for Melee, Steamed Crab/Fish Mithkabobs for tanks.

It never hurts to have an Au Lait with ya, or if you can make juice, take the Mats. If ya can't make juice, Take some yag Drinks/Melon Juice with ya.

Maybe a Super Ether or Stack of potion Drops?

Maybe some Shehi to sell to the the tank that wants to leave cause he's out of Shehi.

Dunno, if your looking to take "In case shit happens" items with you, and you have plenty of money to spare, all of these are worth consideration.

Silent OIls
Prism Powder
Some way of getting home if you get stuck somewhere (Instant Warp, Cudgel, Pocket L75 BLM, something like that)
Echo Drops if you cast anything

is a pretty good start.

Being poisoned to death shouldn't be a problem unless you're a pretty low level soloing, but those first four things are musts for everytime you leave your MH.

If you don't use your echo drops and antidotes alot, replace them with a remedy or two, which covers a wider range of dangerous ailments and only takes up one inventory slot.

Ran into this recently:

Boomerang in case you end up in a party where some how NO one brought any ranged to pull.

I always carry echo drops on me since I'm a redmage, I also never switch my 4 left mandy bud or get rid of it from my inventory space. I usually often keep a few gear sets in my inventory too - melee solo gear and party gear for my rdm, food and range weapon.

I'm going to get around to lvlling alchemy sometime too so eventually I can keep maybe some potions and other stuff with me.

Soon we'll have the official Quetzalcoatl firstaid kit compiled!!!

Hmm. Try Hermes Quencher ... you might need that Flee ... you'll never know.

-Sneak and Prism Powder (always good incase your trap somewhere)
-Reraise Hairpin (lvl 60, RRII was good when you dont have a whm in the pt)
-Instant Warp/Warp Cudgel (incase there is no warp II or you are strand'd somewehere)
-Extra Food(I usually carry an extra stack of acc and atk food incase I forget I'm low on food)

if you don't have a warp cudgel...then get a scroll of instant warp (for all those who love to burn those precious conquest points)

rangers........you can't ever buy too much ammo

trust me...

10 stacks minimum arrow
14 stacks minimum bolt
10 stacks minimum bullet
yellow curry

and if you don't have enough room...do gobbie bags....inventory is key

food food food
know your job...know your flaws...fix em with food hehe

Reraise gorget is usful for when you are going into things and you think there is a chance you will die. RRII and 10 charges, I believe its cheaper then a RR pin too(probally because it takes a longer activation time). Like I said its good if you know theres a chance you will die before trying...you know like next time you decide to go solo a god...or four slimes surrounded by aggroing monsters...or a random NM in a high level area that no one in your linkshell has heard about...

Besides my RR gorget that I only carry melee food, mage food, echo drops, and a Warp Club as a RDM, though the idea of drinks interests me. You have no idea how many times refresh has worn at 39 MP ~.~

i think know your job, know your flaws, but acsentuate your jobs strengths with food is more close to correct. i'm not gonna eat naravin because rangers evasion is horrible, nor am i going to use turtle soup on a smn because it's HP sucks.

12 earth crystals
12 ash lumber
12 Holy Bolt Heads.

List of White Mages who will cross the world to raise.

Lesee here...

Fed. Signet Staff
Treat Staff II (warp)
Warp Cudgel (more warp)
Tavzanian Ring (can never have too much warp)
Silent Oil
Prism Powder
Meat & Sushi or Pie & Cookies
Federation Aketon
Holy Water (curse lasts for ages, and the movement -12% sucks)
Echo Drops
Eye Drops (mages can never spare time to blindna folks, nooooo -.-)
Reraise Hairpin
Pollux's Ring, signed by Brin

I think that's everything I carry.

And to Cuacos... Don't bother with Deoderizer, ever. Most useless stuff in the game. Deoderize is a handy thing to have... in about 5 situations thoughout your entire FFXI life. Being a THF, you might use it 15 times, but it'll be easier to just run through a river.
