This is what I was going to say so I'll just add to it.

Cheating should be confined to single player games. Sometimes people cheat just because the game is "too hard" for them. So they cheat to see the next cut scene or to, in effect, lower the game's difficulting setting. But doing this changes everything which is why I rarely even think about it even in single player games. You're not playing the game as intended. You're taking away the challenge. You're not REALLY playing. You're bypassing the "game" part of it to skip to the rewards. And what are they really worth if you cheated to get them?

If I have to play 2/3 of a level for my daughter does that me she beat? No. Winning is determined by what you are able to accomplish on your own. And it is even worse in a multiplayer setting because now you are able to effect other players. And all it proves is that they are better than you because you feel like you can't win against them or accomplish what they can accomplish without cheating.

FFXI is just a game. True. But why do people play games? It is entertaining but there is also a sense of accomplishment in the form of challenges and rewards. When you cheat you have accomplished nothing and have probably hindered the next player willing to take up the challenge (or at the same time if you're stealing it from them). It's not fair and its not really playing.

I agree with everything you've said Reauland. However, I'm afraid that a lot of gamers won't see your point of view. They have narrow minds and are not willing to reason or consider the possibilities outside of the little box they've created for themselves. Me, I just learn to ignore them. Act like they don't exist. In fact, a few years after it's all over with, I forget they even exist. I can't name a hacker/cheater/whatever you want to call them that I used to know back in the day. Though, I tend to dislike the people who view people on the net as lines of text and nothing more. Those are the kinds of people that really tick me off. *shrug*

Although you hate my guts for whatever reason even though I'm nice to you Corv, I agree with you. And there is nothing more infuriating than when someone takes that credit away right? Word is you told someone I fish-bot. I worked my ass off for 3 years getting to 100 fishing legitemately. Up till the last fishing patch botting wasn't even efficient, because you reeled up items which gave more fatigue, if you had the time to fish to fatigue which I did. I love fishing, believe or not some people do (halifirien comes to mind) , and if you ask anyone that knows me they'll tell you I'm crazy about it. And plus it's just retarded to do that type of shit in the first place. This is in no way an attack or anything but I just find it disturbing for someone to talk down on my achievements as you would if someone insulted yours.
 
You know an old friend told me that you dont play much. Most of the time she like to hang out with you because it's a must every weekend. But look again, if you dont play much it is magic to get 100+ fishing (Which everyone know aint easy, and almost all 99% fishing back then are bot), and your cooking mule, 100 Woodworking and yet most of them all, another character to lvl 50+. Maybe she lied. Anyway, we not friend anymore. So it really don't matter much anymore. Also, even if we're not friends. I dont want to drag her here, you should stop right there.

Right, I will leave that right there, and I know most fishermen back then did bot. But I didn't, so don't downtalk my hardwork just to put yourself above everyone. I don't dislike you, I don't talk about you, so I have no idea why my name should even come up. Anyways I didn't want to argue, I was agreeing with what you said but you turn around and put me down. I'm glad that you got your haidate and you got it legit, I don't knock it, don't knock me on my accomplishments and were cool.
