...Its official. the goverment has no life.

Well, I am certainly no Bush fan by a long shot, but I doubt he has even read the bill. Even if he has, I doubt he would understand what it means. Bush is the President, but he doesn't run this country any which way.

Regardless, it's an interesting piece of legislation. I will read up on that a little more and see whether this would apply to privately held websites such as QCDN. If it does, then a bunch of Flameboard posts are actually felonies.

I know it's crazy, but I will check into it anyway.

Does that mean that magazine, newspapers, radio and television talk shows will also require a person's "true" identity?

For the record, my name is John Smith.

LMAO....oh man. Thats a whole lot of new prisons they're gonna have to build, since altleast 1/2 of the US is going to become a criminal.

I myself usually dont care much about politics, but some times, just some times i wish they used their brains instead of their powertrips.

and just for those who i have annoyed, im actually Aristocrates.

Worst comes to worst, look into a Foreighn server hosting and whatnot, surely that would not be subject to the US laws

Don't pass go, don't collect 200gil.

lol, the government giving sculli power and annoying the rest of us. Espcially flameboard users. What a cruel world we live in.

Really interesting...
However since I'm swedish, I can flame your *** off
and still get away with it.
Or can I? /panic

I talked to a lawyer friend of mine, and it is his belief that the whole thing is absolutely not enforcable. In order to even server an anon poster with an order to not post anon anymore one would need to get an order to the ISP to release the records of one of their users identities. As if this was not enough, IP pools provide a huge challenge, because sites like QCDN only log proxys, not actual IPs. In addition some proxys do not allow for actual IP resolution.

There are a bunch of other issues as well, in the end it is very unlikely that someone will sue someone else over saying "You Suck!" on an Internet forum.

However, the whole thing makes me consider to just make an LLC and put QCDN underneath that, who knows what congress and Dubya will dream up next.

All this BS and meanwhile i've still got 3 email accounts i can't use thanks to spam. I love america, god bless the minorities of people with enough money to make their vote count.
