thats not true im still around, you just cant see me... and i dont pay for it lol. my wife put me on temporary suspension for spending too much money on other stuff like 3 months ago and hasnt given me my account back yet :(

The way you play and the person that you are is something alot of ppl can learn from. Respect for you and all the best to you outside of FFXI.

(Iba) Well that wasn't so bad. We could totally take them if we all knew what we were doing.

(Fire) Yeah, really. Only 200 damage to a whm!
 
Heh, 95% of the time, we knew exactly what we were doing. That other 5% though where shit went wrong was probably the most enjoyable because we all knew how to take it well and go along for the ride. That was what I loved about everyone. We might get our asses handed to us, but that will just make us stronger the next time.
 
Gettin down to the wire now, December 30 will be my last day. To those of you to whom I've promised some my endgame gear, Party at 1 pm U.S. Eastern Time, Purgonorgo Isle beach!

Now for some reflections (yah, maudelin, I know, but it's MY "leaving the game" thread and I'll do it like I damn well please! :D )

This game is made great, and rewarding, by the people who play it and by the company we keep. Many of those who helped me along the way are gone too, and I merely add my name to the list of those who have gone before. And I want to remember and name a lot of them.

I know I'll forget many people I should be mentioning. Please forgive me if I don't, it's not intentional - there are just so many people I've been fortunate enough to know in the game!

Best buddy, pal, sweetheart, uber companion and all around person I love to hang out with: Kinkkerbelle

Best static leader: Ibariba, hands down!

Best static ever: Blackcurrant! (Ibariba, Kinkkerbelle, Makelith, Lanien, Passions and me)

Best party leader ever: Ibariba!

Best linkshell leader: Anaeran

Best all around player and party mate I ever partied with: Mistra (Kyrial's right up there too!)

Best Palidan: Nyyankee

Best Ninja: Tsumi

Best Beastmaster: Kinkkerbelle (hon mention - Thefonz)

Best Red Mage: Fleur

Best Black Mage: Fizzywig, Pompidou (oh yeah... final thought here... being a great BLM means NOT having 1300 mp, 500 hp and dying at least once per NM!) :D

Best White Mage: lol I have no idea, because I've always been a White Mage and only got to watch others work when we were in alliances. There have been plenty who were better than me, I just wish I could name them all. I'd name a bunch here but then I'd wind up inadvertently excluding someone who might feel hurt. Lets just say that our server has some real classy people in this job.

Best Bard: Lanien

Best Thief: Klop

Best Dark Knight: Makelith (also, though he'll never admit it - most rock solid and steady party mate ever)

Best guys who stretched the limits: Nogard, Klop (these guys'd take ANYthing on - Klop, how the hell did we actually duo that ToAU mission NM and win???)

Most Prolific Sheep Diddler: Nogard!

Best Quest Companion: Zyndara

Most loyal friend: Khali

Person who learned most in the game: Eulore. This is a special note. Eulore was always, always, excellent at his job. But over time, he went way beyond that, I think... and become someone who's also a good party mate. Eulore and I never got along all that well, but I've always respected him, and I respect him even more now because of how he has grown and matured - and I think the friendships he made in the game have been a big part of that. Eulore, I wish you all the very best in life.

Best at helping others progress in the game: Naughtydawg; Domi; Nogard; Neyla; Halifirien

Girl with the biggest heart: Isollde

Just Plain Wunnerful People who I'm glad I got to know: Blazeoffury; Jediknight; Godofdeath; Arthur; Tails; Dominatrix; Chronofantasy; Pompidou (this list will never end)

Sweetest girl who's all round a great player: Chiimi (and yes, helping you get your White Mage Testimony and talking to you about the Maat fight is something I still remember with great fondness - you made that experience very very rewarding, and a source of pride in me).

I know I'll be editing this list to add bunches of people I haven't named yet, but that'll be a fun thing.

To those who helped me along the way and who became friends - thank you! You have honored me.

To those I've helped, it was a joy to do so. Pass it on!

And to everyone who loves this game like I have - keep enjoying!

Favorite Things

Favorite Quest: The map quest for the Crawler's Nest map. Lots of people don't like it, but it takes you to places in Vana'Diel you never would've known existed. If you have the right attitude this is a fun quest.

Favorite 1 Party Battle: The Mammet-Omega-Ultima Airship Fight. By far the best single party fight in the game, ever!

Favorite Settlement: Rabao. I love that place, it's truly a relaxing oasis.

Favorite Places: Mmmmmm, several!

Atop the Mountain in East Altepa during a full moon...
Purganono Isle at sunset
Hidden Beach in Dunes
Any Airship
The Manaclippers in Bibiki
Lower Jeuno at Christmastime (I love the music!)
Misereaux Coast at the Waterfalls
The Bahamut Fight Zone (I loved that fight too!)
Sliding the Glacier in Ulugureand Range


Favorite Cutscene(s):

The Cutscenes to close out the CoP missions. Whoever crafted the CoP Missions really knows how to bring a story to closure.

Favorite City:

Tough one, because I like each for different things. Probably Bastok, because of the majesty of the place, and because it's more laid back than Sandoria but less trouble to get around than Windurst.

Favorite Zone Music: Too many places, the music's always been excellent.

Favorite "normal" xp zones: East Sarutabaruta.

Favorite Alliance or Alliance+ fight: Jormy

Favorite thing only I would appreciate (lol or maybe Kyrial too!): Having the maps to all the Promies and leading parties through them as a ranger/ninja with widescan. Only thing better would've been to have strider boots.

Favorite activity in general: Helping people with their quests. For example, I really enjoyed helping people with their Rank and Zilart quests, and I loved running the Cauldron solo and then Tractor/RaiseIII'ing people over the hump in Yuhtunga to do the Yhoater portion of ZM5.

Things I wish I'd done more of:

- Limbus
- Jailers
- Dynamis Dreamlands
- Helping others more.

Favorite thing about the game: That you can only succeed by helping, and being helped by, others and by working together with others towards common goals.
