...and now I need you help. Well heres whats goin down, Ive been gone awhile due to lack of funds, and still remain gone. But I need your help!

What happened you ask, well today in class my teacher made the blind accusation that violent video games make teens violent. And guess what was one of the games he attacked, you guessed it. FFXI specifically. Among others was GTA, Doom, and Quake. Well immediately I began to argue. But now I turn to you, my fellow gamers for help.

I ask that you all help support my claim that games do NOT make teens violent. You can help me by; citing research studies, personal quotes, and even answers to questions he might propose. If you dont feel this way Im sorry, but I ask you not to post because I do not wish for this to turn into a flame war.

So help me out please!

Beat your teacher's ass for being stupid.

I'd point out the Jack Thompson vs. Bully case, where the judge watched the game and said "Nothing wrong here."

'If games affected us, people would sit around in dark rooms, listening to repeditive music and eating tons of white pills.'

Just go to his car, press triangle, then leave a stick a dynamite with a note saying "If you mention video game violence again, the next one will be armed".

My teacher is very similar to Jack Thompson, except Jack "knows" the names of the games. Where as my teacher knows very few and attacks them to no end.

"Games like FFXI, where you play as characters with weapons and magic, and the point is to kill another player(i was giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he meant some PvP), simply inspires teens to do it in the real world, and that it is allright for them to do that"

i kinda cried on the inside.

Why would your teacher attack FFXI when WoW has a bigger player base and has intence PvP whereas FFXI's players are growing smaller (it seems) and the only PvP we can do is if we sign up for it? Does your teacher even know what the Final Fantasy series is? Because if they do, why in the world would they attack XI? FFVII was way more popular and (in a sense) more violent. FFVIII was quite violent too.

Games have ratings for a reason, and it's the person who's buying and selling them that has to make sure games as violent as GTA don't get into the hands of minors.

Please tell your teacher (for me) to research and play the games they claim to be violent before accusing them of making kids violent. It's not the games that make people change, it's their choice to become violent and do violent things.

Oh yeah, and if a school shooting is what they're trying to base their findings off of, tell them it was a result (usually) of BAD PARENTENTING and not the video games.
