One thing that I haven't really quite understood about this forum, is that people will make a post, say about 1-3 sentences stating what gear/item/accomplishment they have obtained, and then post a picture.

You don't really get to read ABOUT the good times that follow with that accomplishment. So... I'm gonna do that now.

Almost 2 years ago, a small Dynamis shell called BadNFluenz broke. An offer was made to hand over leadership, but unfortunately the only member who offered to do this, had been very new and wasn't known very well by the current leader. So the shell just broke.

But, that didn't stop the little tarutaru called Archmage. Instead, he went out, got himself a new linkshell and named it "SpiftasticAdventures".

Many members from the previous shell, eagerly joined because this was the ONLY english speaking linkshell that had 2 unique things:

1. It ran at a very convenient time for PST players (and late for the night owls)
2. It ran once a week, making it ideal for people that had busy work/family lives and couldn't really participate in the 2 day/week shells.

In the beginning, our "good times" were actually more of a struggle. We would go and do Dynamis-Sandoria consecutively while we tried to build our roster, and learn how pulls worked and everything else so that we could get the win. There was a lot of death in the very beginning, many many wipes... I know that a lot of people that had joined at the start, ended up leaving because they though "omg, this shell sucks!" but for those of us who believed in our shell, we just laughed and joked when bad things happened and always tried to cheer each other up so that we could push further.

And push further we did. In the span of about 6 months, we finally had gotten ourselves all the city wins except for Windurst. We had grown together as a group, knowing that though we had pretty low numbers with practice and determination our little shell would one day see Northlands.

Sadly though, Archmage had some RL stuff happen and had to leave the game. At first, it was expected to be a little break so the leaders held the fort and we started to try out Windurst. Eventually though, we were told that Archmage would not be returning to the game (though i'm pretty sure he had wanted to) and the morale seemed to drop a little. Soon, we started to have our numbers drop so far that we actually had to cancel runs because we didn't want to risk the loss of gil on an hourglass. And actually, I believe that even Archmage and his brother Sirivalin had contributed from their own pockets right before this just to see to it that we could keep going.

So, a break happened. It lasted about 2 months. That is, until our good old galka Gimli piped up that he had a linkshell that he could hand out new pearls for, and that we should try do do some more recruiting and start anew. So, the leaders Acts, Selph, Rari, Gimli and myself did exactly this. Our new shell (but with the same people) became RidersOfRohan!

Before we knew it, we had our win in Windurst for the first time and it was on to BEAUCEDINE GLACIER!

It was really a great moment for all the members that had been around since day 1 from SpiftasticAdventures. We had after a year, finally gotten to Northlands.

Not soon after, we recruited a very very insane but skilled puller named Cherron who really helped with the way that we did our runs. With his "GO GO GO GO" attitude (never giving us mages much time to rest!) we started bringing in a lot of AF (thanks to our great THFs who while probably hate bringing the job, still do for the team!) and a lot of coins. It only made sense that we'd get the win and head on to Xarcabard 2 months later!

Anyways, in between all this success (slow but hey, we did it!) I think many of the people in this shell have grown pretty close and sometimes, it really feels like we're in a social shell. We goof off right before the run (we once had everyone get into the little kid costumes and run around chasing Gimli, the galka father) and now with Ventrilo, we have our laughs every single Tuesday. (Title of this thread is an inside joke )

I think my most favorite memory from all our dynamis runs, was when we did Windurst. We had one of those nasty pulls come where a GAZILLION yagudo swarmed us on the bridge and AoE just seemed to get spammed and my lolwhm seemed to have been one shotted. Most of the alliance seemed to be doing ok, and my main concern was my PLDs... (yes, they are mine, I own them!) so I raised up quick, shot out a cure V on the main tank before they were killed but because I hadn't moved out of range, I was killed immediately after. I hadn't bothered to move out of range because I knew if I did, I wouldn't have been able to keep that PLD alive by the time I was safe. But it gets better, this pull just really really sucked and after I had gotten a raise, I ended up doing the same thing and throughout the night my death toll went to I think 11. I laughed soooo hard that I had beaten the usual BLM death toll that night. And yes, we did get the win on that run ^^

So there's a bit to go on about the "good times" that lead up to what is now my second goal being accomplished with this insane but very hard working group.

RED MAGE AF2 is now 5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duelist's Chapeau dropped not once last night (Congrats Ratchicken!) but TWICE! WOOOT!

My first goal had been to get PLD AF2 6/6, and after a year and a half of doing Dynamis runs once a week, I managed to get my last two AF pieces in Northlands both on the very first runs we had in those zones!

So thank you to RidersOfRohan Dynamis LS, for all your great teamwork and dedication to making our runs seem like a fun and relaxing 3.5hr event where we can all make fun of each other and get some great drops. Can't wait for our future runs, now that we have our leet TH4!

Grats on the RDM af!

One quick little tiny question: When did we start doing dreamlands and when did you get the rdm and pld accessory pieces to make it 6/6?

Congrats that's a nice story =D!

Welcome to the pimp hat club, don't forget to backhand those plds to keep them in line.

Congrats Zer in the words of every rdm that has one told me....

"Once you put it on, you don't want to take it off"

unless it's for nuking and mnd setups but I'm sure you get the picture;)

Awesome Good times post. Congratulations on the newly acquired relic Rdm hat, the two completed relic sets, and the Dynamis shell that sounds like it's full of people that are just fun to be around.
