Interesting.... Although I think this might as well be yet another HNM.

Doesn't say it but the pic doesn't look like a cutscene, looks like its being used as a summon.
 
Upon closer look at the pictures, this one does seem to have this specific celestial glow you see around avatars.
And unlike normal announced (H)NMs, SE tends to put up pictures in either their idle stance or with people around it fighting it, which is neither in this case.

But as I said before, it might just as well be another (H)NM for us to camp and compete over...

Diabolos lacks a "glow" -- he has the fuzziness to him, but he doesn't have the aura.

exactly, and i'm not assuming that Ixion would be celestial. All the elements are covered under the auspices of the celestial avatars.

I do however, still have my doubts about it being a summonable avatar though.
As we've seen other avatars from previous FF games be included in the game as being either unsummonable avatars and as (H)NMs...
And where the hell is Phoenix!?

However looking at the backgrounds of both pictures it reminds me more of Jugner Forest or Batallia Downs.
Also on the top picture there's a comet in the upper left hinting strongly that this will probably be a WotG update.

i got an idea... its a new HNM and the pact to smn it is one of the drops which is r/ex

like a behomoth tounge for blackbelt... 100% drop but only one

I think he may be some sort of Gnoll, maybe a pack leader. I'm just speculating here. It'd make some sense if it was Jugner because only Gnolls roam around Jugner natively.

well, basically.. There are already two duplicates. Fenrir and Diabolos. Yeah I know, avatar of darkness and avatar of dreams, thats if youre technical.

But I could see duplicated avatars being introduced, just give them better/different abilities, along with higher MP cost and perpetuation. All we have right now are elemental avatars, besides diabolos, it would be nice to get some of the different avatars. (even though many of them are introduced as HNM's, gods, WS, or are just tied into the story line, aka. bahamut, cerberus, kirin, phoenix, hydra, knights of the round, odin)
