Jack Thompson (sorta) Defends Mass Effect

"GTA stuff released! Start crusades now!"

"I like your new glasses"

"As usual you are reporting on the real news at hand"

I loved this part so so so much.

Why would you be surprised. I don't see any problem with it. The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about.

Oh lawd where is dah irony?

MAH HAART. IT GOES OUT.

CANNOT TAKE THE IRONY! (capz)

I..uh...DOES NOT COMPUTE. *sparks*

O_O holy shit... ok..... who switched on Thompson's "Nice guy" mode...?

we can probrably get him back the good ol' fashioned way if we invite him to QCDN

do we want the old Thompson back though?

But, even if he is OK with 1 game, he still isn't ok with alot of others like GTA and such.

Maybe he actually tried playing a video game instead of bitching about things hes never experienced before.

You guys are pretty damn stupid. Jack Thompson never said things that aren't true about product X. If he had, then yes, he'd be a hypocrite, but thats not the case.

Infact, his beefs are pretty warranted. The only problem is, he's going after the wrong target. Instead of going after the companies who produce content that shouldn't be viewed by children, he should be going after the retailers who aren't properly handling the sales process. Thats why he's a stupid douchebag.

The biggest fuel for his fire(parents that unknowingly buy the product for their kids, the complain that Bobby saw pixel blood) should really be shit out of luck. Learning your childrens interest and teaching them the difference between right/wrong, fantasy/reality is part of being a parent. The moment money exchanges for the software, you've agreed that you're okay with what you've bought. Whether you know what it is or not.

I've grown up on video games, I've played Wolfenstein, Doom, Mortal Kombat, and a few others before I was even ten. I'd say I have a healthy psychological profile. A generation later, my younger brother is huge in to video games like I was when I was his age sixteen years ago. He's played Call of Duty 3 and 4. Hell my parents even bought him 3.

The difference between me and him, and little Jonny Soccermomspawn? My parents taught us(well, me, I taught him,) the difference between physical and virtual.
