Jacking up the Auction House Prices

Blessed Briault: lvl 100 synth Silver thread x1 gold thread x2 velvet cloth x2 rainbow cloth x1 -galateia- x2 (The item that drops from ENM).

Only item aside from the Errant cape that a CC'er can do to go from 99-100.

..the price you listed sounds to me to be the amount of the material cost. Possibly even lower. (Assuming that the crafter is taking all breaks as a loss you're still getting what you're paying for on this item.) To look into ways to reduce this cost to you would be one be a savvy buyer, and two gather some friends who would be willing to do this particular ENM with you.

Now here's the real mindfuck: If you farm your gil to buy a top end item and do everything legit then turn around and buy from a gilseller are you just as bad for propigating it? Where's the line between physically helping them and fiscally helping them?

For the most part, in my experience, gilsellers do less crafting and more farming of components. Hauby, SH, etc, they're much more interested in providing the materials than the actual product.

I doubt gilsellers see nearly as much direct recycling of gil as they would like.

As for helping Gilsellers... Hmmm. From my perspective, I guess the operative words are "Who really cares?". You can say "Gilbuyers fuck up the economy" and "Gilsellers monopolize monsters" all you like, but the first problem is one of attitude of the BUYER, and the second one is true of ANYONE that gets control of a NM. Most people are less likely to try and MPK for it, but it's hardly unheard of.

Gilsellers are a nuisance at times, much like buyers can be, but they're inevitable, and for the most part, not a huge deal.

If you want to be really technical, gilsellers are putting more items on the market than would otherwise be there. Having more items for the wealth to be split among causes deflation. Having less items causes inflation.

Respectively, if gilsellers didn't exist at all, these NMs would be camped by people that don't sell gil (as of now alot of NMs have just been given flat-out on because of sellers) which would actually keep the input of items about the same, without the side-effect of stockpiling gil on the side which seems to give the effect of erratic inflation/deflation (is that the right word? ^^; )

On the downside, there'd be the risk that some people monopolize these NMs all the same and could control the market - but gilsellers do this already, and without them at least the monopoly rate would drop, which in turn would mean at least a LITTLE less pricegouging and crap.

Gilsellers suck, but they don't put things for higher-than-normal prices from what I've seen. In fact, they try to combat the damage they've done to the economy by stabalizing it.
Speaking of NM's, anyone seen the price of Emperor Pin and Lizzy boots lately? Freaking insane! I had to quit NIN because it'd take me 1.7mil for a little bit of equipment that would make me slightly better in one level's worth of equipment. In turn, I took advantage of it and made a net profit of about 800k.

pere i dont understand you, you say you got all this fuckin money but your gear is horrible (at least when i played and from what i hear) why not get some better gear if 500million gil is not a force WHAT IN THE FUCK are you saving your gil for? WHAT THE FUCK are you hording it for ? maybe the RL will crash and FFXI gil will be what people use IRL as currency i dont understand your a fuckin dumbass whore and everything you say is fuckin retarded and should die

No, the gil sellers have started increasing the prices on some items. That's why the price of Serket rings and Healing staffs have gone up significantly, even though the gil sellers all but control the supply of those items.

My gear is a myth, one I think is quite funny. You don't really think I could sit at 80 cloth for so long, when rainbow sells for 100k per stack profit, and don't have anything, do you? Thieves don't need scorpion harnesses if they eat sushi. Attack and strength goes so much better in that slot, and that slot is the only thing my fanboys remember about me. I bought a scorpion harness at 74 because it looks good with green pants. 7 million gil is not much to me. As a L40 thief I had L70 cloth. I've had everything I've ever needed to be the pickup thief of choice for two years. You just don't remember me very well.

I remember you though. I partied with your ranger. I invited your ranger, and you liked it. You would send me tells asking if I was starting a party up. Oh I remember you well. You sure loved peregrine brand pickup parties 8 months ago. Or were you just another beggar content to hide your angst for me while you eat from my hand? You took xp from me. Then when you put your thief flag up, the pickup parties left you in Jeuno as they took me. You're one of those people who always has their flag up, seven days a week. Someone who throws time at every barrier. But it's pretty funny that while you can level ranger and thief to 75 before I can level thief, and yet when my and your flag is up, they take me. I guess I did you a favor by only putting my flag up once a week. Don't think I would ever forget what thieves are left in Jeuno on account of me though, MP. I remember you. If my thief was horrible, what was yours? Because it was nothing but sitting in Jeuno when my flag was around.

Want to know how much gil I have on me right now?
1,231,796.
Want to know what my biggest purchase will be this month?
Two stacks of shihei and a stack of blind bolt heads.

I am above gil. I haven't needed gil to supplement how I perform in a half a year. The difference between me and you is that you have to compensate your lack of worth by farming and wearing it.

Lol wearing your worth...mmmk I can do that too I suppose. Send me 3 hours a day that you seem to have so much of, and I'll show you how well I can equip another job.

What're those at now anyway? I was gonna get a Serket Ring... too bad though. I'd sooner buy two Astrals than one of those. I mean, unless I start buying gil or something. Or if I can get some more money on my hands and get my Gardening started.

Yes skaw, let me get right on looking my best for two levels of experience points. Let me get right on that.

Me neither. Welcome to reading my posts about how I hate that fucking place.

Obliviousness!

For you or for me? So you posted something like "**** yeah pere I agree uleguerand rocks" once in a thread. You're not doing better than me out in Uleguerand, so tell me why I need to look good for you out there in the blue moon that you'll find me with a flag up or in a xp party?

I get xp half naked these days because once a month when I put a flag up about...oh...80 people from 73-75 see my name and go "O_O holy **** pere is leveling" Tell me why I need to keep my xp set "endgame best" these days? Pride? **** you, you're on your knees to me as it is. I don't need pride.

Wait, a thief do better than a monk?

What shitty monks have you been partying with. Only concievable way that can happen would be if they never used hand to hand.

And why not do it to benefit your shell? Why is exp the only excuse to aim for great gear?

Ride those coat tails hard, Peregrine.

I think the auction house drama is entertaining. If you live by that sword, you die by it. I don't see why people should get so bent out of shape due to rising prices. They have no one to blame but themselves honestly. When you put so much into hiding that you're a nameless nobody with 13 bucks a month and mediocrity across every other board, your masks are bound to skyrocket in price eventually. That's what I really think about the plight of the HQ seeker.

You hit the engage button for a living, skaw. You're trying too hard.
