Nah, I've met a few that speak straight english and avoid ebonics. I think this is more a case of the bad minority stick out over the better majority no?

No. Sadly, from the experience I have the straight english speaking blacks are the minority. I don't know if it's my closeness to Chicago, the fact that I'm young and therefore surrounded by young blacks, or what it seems that the majority talk like that. Most use the same justification that it's apart of their culture (i.e. black pop culture).
