Alrighty, I hate starting flames...honestly I do. But I'm kinda in a bad mood about this situation here. Okay, so for the past few days, i've been exping a few jobs with my blm and ninja (both in the 40-ish range). I get invited to a party by a leader on my blm, and this bard named, Jamesy is in the party. I'm thinking to myself, Jamesy Jamesy...why the hell do I know that name. Apparently I had been lvling with him before on my darknight about a month ago, (and I tend to remember those who are mentally challenged, or amazing players...little did I know...)
So the party setup is pretty bad...I didn't think anything of it. My sole goal was to hit 40 to get rid of my warp II scroll sitting in my mog house. As the party goes on, I begin to notice a few things.
Why is the Bard not keeping ballad on at all times?
Why is he not using enfeebling songs?
....why is he meleeing....?
What bard consistantly melee's in a party? WOOHOO PAPER KNIFE DOES SOO MUCH DMG!! Originally I don't say anything...at this point in time I'm only about 1k till finishing my level, so I let the guy off. No use causing drama over 1k exp I was staying for. So I finish my level, leave, and start working on my ninjar, losing all interest in my blm (no offense blm's). So after a few levels I manage to hit around the 44 range, and yet again, I am invited to another party, with Jamesy as the bard with my blm friend.
I let a groan
double groan...
okay it was a groan fest....
At this point in time, I tell the leader "Um, this bard is kind of a moron just for a fair warning". He doesen't seem to believe me initially, honestly how mentally challenging is it to play bard at this level. Sure enough, he managed to surprise our leader. So very kindly I asked him "Hey Jamesy, could you please stop meleeing? You're a bard, you really don't do much dmg, and you're kinda giving the mob extra tp for its moves. Bard's don't melee at this level anymore."
He replied with...
"what crack are you smoking? It's boring to not melee..."
so I sighed and let it go...
let the noob not accept any help or suggestion whatsoever towards his job. I mean hell, it's not like I have any sort of experience in this game. So I'm talking with a friend of mine in the party, who's a little tiffed that he's getting only one ballad after a fight...when Jamesy remembers to. He continues to not help in any backup healing even though he's subbing whm. And who could forgot, he's still meleeing.
Awesome
Fantastic
Magnifico
After a quick chat with the leader, I recommend that we pick up another DD over a bard that barely uses songs (and for the record he was using str and agi etudes on me for some unknown reason), or listens to any helpful suggestions given by his party members. Leader d/c's and suddenly....I have the yellow dot. I thank Jamesy for coming out and accepting the invite, however, I didn't have room for someone who does not listen to any help give by his party. I boot him immediately following this, and grab a war...
You think it would end there
but it doesen't unfortunately.
This evening I received an invite to a party in the desert. I'm thinking oh great somewhere besides Crawler's Nest for once. haha BUT GUESS WHO'S IN THE PARTY!!! Jamesy the mereeing bard! This became a whole new drama fest in itself. I told the leader that I would kindly continue seeking for I wasn't about to put up with a bard like Jamesy.
The leader disagreed saying "no no, it's okay, i'll replace"...
Fine by me. But I d/c during a thunderstorm...and when I return, there are a few members that are upset with the current situation. Apparently Jamesy was a friend of theirs and were having a huge disagreement on his disappearance from the party. I explained Jamesy's "Skills" as a bard, and that he simply be a mooch for exp parties, that many people would agree with my statement. The whitemage was upset with me, our other melee was upset with me, so they said "This isn't right, I'm leaving." I mean at this time i'm a little angry because:
1: I told the leader if there was a problem that I could continue seeking on my own.
2: I explained my dislike for this person and if there was a problem, I could leave and he could take his place.
3: It was apparent that those particular people were saying things behind my back...of which I don't really appreciate
I ended up leaving that party, annoyed with the drama fest that I attempted to avoid in every way possible, however it was inevitable that such an occurance had to take place today.
