Jamesy (And other's who wouldn't listen)

My brd melees.. when im bored out of my mind from the party killing ridiculously slow and actually giving me the time to do so.
When I gotta cast melee buffs on you 3 times it's a sign to leave the zone.
Oh and jamesy shall die for messing with my concubine!

There's a difference between doing all you can in your job, back up healing, status healing...and then meleeing because "damn the tank is that good". And meleeing because, "zomg this is so boring". I know very few bards that can pull that off.

oh and hey khajit, if you didn't read the first page...I'm shoving an axe up his ass.

About Jamesy, sorry he's been an idiot lately. He's in my LS and I told him what Areya said to him, most of it. He will regret it soon or later when he realizes he wont get any PT at all because of the way hes doing hes job.

There's no reason for you to be apologizing for someone else's actions. As for the linkshell, sadly I'm pretty sure everyone as it out for me just because of the desagreement altogether. I should have let Jamesy go...prove the bard skills that he has in party...and then explain for the boot. But I wasn't about to waste another hour of my time, and everyone else's.......again.

Parse? ;P Until someone can show numbers cranked out while minimizing downtime, I'm with Antor.- Lec

lol I agree, I wanna know what respectable merit party takes a melee rdm over a mnk, sam, or war. RDM Dagger caps at... 220, and sword around 255 I wanna say.... So even with merit theres no way this guy is out doing a merit'd mnk or war.. A merit cannon gear'd nin could smoke a rdm lol... Damn you Lec for being right err narrow minded..

When I said narrow-minded, I was referring to the bandwagoning of jobs, and only giving those jobs a single role, which seems to be the norm.

NIN that are tank onry
RDM that are refresh/heal onry

Sure, Ill attempt to get another pt with this guy. He did his job, and he did it well, all while dishing out some decent damage. Thats all there is to it. Dishing out 500 damage eviscerations is pretty good for a RDM if you ask me.

But yeah, people always wanted parses, so Ill try to get one.

But seriously.. If a job was genuinely not meant to melee, then they wouldnt have weapon proficiency. People can play how they want and still have very successful parties, and Charlo only further proves this point.

Bards can party with no gear on AF weapon and one instrument plus melee and not listen to anyone because they can and also they will get far more invites than the melees that complain about it, hope this helps

...wow.....
...
....
......

BRD shouldn't even melee unless in dunes, in a duo pt, or w/ a close group of friends. But always, first and formost BRD should keep a cycle of the songs he/she is using up. No reason for one Ballard inbetween fights. I'm at this level w/ my RNG, thanks, I will keep an eye our for this BRD guy.

PT with Charlo, and youll definitely change your narrow-minded opinions!

He definitely wasnt gimp, either. Had 3 pieces of dusk, I believe, joyeuse, and some dagger. Several other good pieces as well. Every job has the potential to deal good damage, if they have good weapon ratings. Period. Charlo proves this with his character. Ill also add that its very refreshing to have someone not jump on a bandwagon (except he was /nin lawlz, but that only made his melee better)

No. Charlo's a shitty Red Mage. It's not unique or cool to be gimp. Period.

Like I did mention earlier, I could have the name wrong.

This RDM was definitely not gimp. At all. Period. This argument is kind of odd, because he did a very good job in our pt, and had some very good gear. Simple as that. Anyone that says otherwise, unless they were present during the pt (Toolnmc is the only one I remember) then you can kindly stfu, because you have no idea how the pt went :) Only assumptions that many people like to make into facts.

So...

1.) Plds have mp and should main heal and not tank, i mean they got mp after all..
2.) Brds have armor so obviosly they were ment to tank, i mean why else would they even bother making armor that brds could wear..
3.) WHM do get hexa at 220, I should get right on inviting them to sub nin and come as a dmg dealer..?

Its not narrow minded to expect someone to play a job for what it was intended for... its called common sense....

I can guarantee that a party with a melee rdm will get no where near as much exp/hour as a party with a rdm who plays his job like the MAGE he is. If you're screwing around or partying with friends, doing different setups are fine, but for a pick-up group; do what people invited you to the party to do. People invite rdm's for refresh, dispel, debuffs and backup/main healing; they do not invite them for their "damage."

That's also decent damage at best, not good. Good for a red mage, maybe, but not for an actual damage dealing job.

No, you obviously dont understand.... I am not going to join in on another of your mindless arguments, lol.

But JUST for the sake of answering your questions: PLDs have mp, duhr... And they do heal themselves and other pt members. OBVIOUSLY.

BRDs wear armor anyway, but do they have provoke? Uhrr, dont think so. They couldnt even keep hate if they wanted to, unless they tried really hard.

And yes, WHM could sub NIN (but lol, whats the point of nin?) to deal damage with Hexa.

Lemme ask you something though... Why does subbing nin automatically make a job a dd??? I dont understand why you would think that. The only job subbing NIN on which actually boosts damage past any other sj, is WAR.

2 BLU's and a RDM, on colibri.

I dont see a need for the RDM to debuff at all, and main heal wasnt a problem. Dont recall what his dagger hit for, but sword floated around 50 damage with +15ish damage from en spells, and evisceration for a rough average of 500.

Ummm nin doesn't have provoke should they not tank. Also since when is prove needed to tank or hold hate? I've seend rdm/nin and nin/drk pld/drk pld/nin and drk/nin tank way better than most /war. Also brd did tank a little bit ago as brd/nin on big mobs until SE gimped them.

That's so they can solo. I have higher base skill with club on whm than rdm has with sword or dagger, but I'd be an idiot to take off my healing staff for a club and whack away at the mob. Saying that they should be able to melee just because they have skill with a weapon is possibly the dumbest argument for letting jobs who shouldn't be meleeing engage. Yeah, you CAN do it, but it's selfish to do so, since you're going to be holding the party back solely for your own amusement. The reason why the things you're calling "bandwagon" are that way is because they're they best option. You're acting like no one has ever tried going rdm/nin in a party before and it's such a revelation that they can actually hurt a monster; it's been done, it's been proven to death to NOT be beneficial, please stop advocating it.

It's only going to be a successful party if you define it as "few to no deaths," but if you're going for the most exp/hour possible, it's not successful at all.

yeah, they could a little while ago, but not much anymore.

But look, youre also glorifying the variety of different SJ's, which is what I was doing.

What happened to playing for fun? Not many people do that anymore :(

This is just retarded to keep arguing over. Everyone is taking this game way too seriously.

That's a trio of friends, that's not a party. That's also still no where near as much exp as you could make in a full party; it's just easier to throw together for decent exp.

The damage is also rather meh. On colbiri, I was hitting for 70's with a soboro, with any other GK, I'd be hitting for about 150; so I was outdamaging the red mage even with the damage bonus due to using a dagger.

Ruffy just shut the fuck up.

Paladin cure bomb themselves because it gives more hate than curing other party members. It's only a slight amount more, but still more hate.

Bards CAN tank. They put that gear on and hold hate by casting songs. Why do you think BRD have earth staff, and get Osode for more than the CHR? Their songs get a decent amount of hate that is why. If the bard does take hate then the VIT and physical damage -% help reduce the damage they take seeing as though well Bard has no HP or MP pool.

I wont even cover WHM/NIN as it's for solo purposes only.

What about THF/NIN RNG/NIN and BLU/NIN? Jesus you don't even know your own job.

If you're satisfied with a mediocre RDM then by all means party with him. The rest of us know if a RDM is using melee they are lacking some where else. Not to forget that their "good damage" feeds the mobs tp. /NIN also doesn't help with enfeebles landing, how strong a cure goes off, or how much a RDM can nuke for.

Well I'm glad today we took the time machine back to 2004 when red mages meleeing was marginally acceptable
