Japanese Version of FFXI

I happen to have a Japanese Playonline CDI image and was wondering if anyone here who happens to be able to speak japanese was looking for it. If you install the JP playonline program and link it to the FFXI folder you can play the JP version of the game.

I have it uploaded to a server, but as it is limited bandwidth I don't think I should post the link directly. Plus you kinda need to know japanese, and have japanese fonts, and IME installed on your system in order for it to work.

If your interested, I can send the link to you in a message. Please don't bother with this unless you really know japanese though, as it IS limited bandwidth, and you do need to know japanese in order to use it.

Wouldnt CD images happen to be in the same catagory as warez? I guess your not selling it but I am just wondering.

This is the Japanese CD image, which means this version was never released in the US. I don't know if the US Playonline copyright extends to the JP one that was never released here.

Plus, I read on a forum a while back (although I'm not sure if it was true or not) that SE gave in and said NA users can use the JP version of playonline if they could find it.

Becides, playonline is a PAY service. This is just the software to use it. Can't do anything unless you own it allready.

i use to have the IME installed on my comp till i got a new one ill get it working again. I dont know alot of japanese but i can try with what i know. I would like to get it though if its not to much trouble.

There is no gray area here. The US and all major countries respects all copyrights, even ones not released in there country, or even registered in there country. This was established in 1989 when the US joined the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works and Universal Copyright Convention. Disturbing the CD image is software piracy, since SE has not granted you redistribution rights. It being a paid service has nothing to do with its copyrights, and the rights reserved by the copyright owner. Unless SE in writing alters the software licenses that they released the software under, you have no right to redistribute there software or even use it. Since the software license you get when you buy the US version, is strictly for the US version, it dose not mean you have a legal copy or a right to use the JP version if you choose to use the JP version.
