Jesus on a licence plate

Who fucking cares... if they were forcing me to get Jesus on my license plate it would be different but this is just another choice.

I think it's because the choice is "Jesus or nothing." Offer plates for other religions and atheists -- where's the Satan plate? -- and then you'd have a real choice. Instead, you have the state giving preferential treatment to Christian car decoration.

So yeah, I can see why it's controversial.

I honestly don't give a shit. Wouldn't really bother me unless they said "Every plate must have Jesus on it!"

there was a pretty funny one in the comments section i would get

Have FSM on it with the caption

"In His Noodliness We Trust. Ramen."

Yea I can see that.

I want a 'Death' plate.. it's a faery btw.

I look at this like all specialty or custom plates; if a person wants to pony up $25-$50 a year to the state just to say something on his license plate that he can say more readily on a bumper sticker or magnet, that's his business.

I'll stick with the stock plate I get every year:

Does the church get the proceeds from the christian plates? If so which church and how much do they really get. There should be no extra cost for the plate unless the cost is incurred in its production and there should be no donation to the church. If someone wishes to donate to the church let them but don't funnel money to the church.

Just about as offensive as a dog-hater seeing a "I Love Dogs" plate.
Get over yourselves, complainers.

Money from all specialty plates (in SC) goes to either the state, or to a related organization, unless they're a non-profit.

To apply for a Secular Humanist plate, you must present a current organizational membership showing that you are a current and active member of the organization. The fee for the plate is $30.00 every two years in additional to the regular registration fee. As a non-profit organization, the Secular Humanists of the Low Country do not receive any portion of the funds generated from the license plate sales.

Oh man, I want a Jesus plate that says something like "LOL WUT" or "UM (jesus image) NO", oh man that would probably get my car smashed so fast

Lol... i would get a jesus plate that said

I-thump

lol jesus shaved his armpits.

Furthermore, am I the only one that thinks it's strange that he always looks like a white guy?

Common misconception that will never change.

Anyway, seriously who the fuck cares? I'm religious and I wouldn't get it. I find it tacky. Do I care that it's out there? No. You want an "I love Satan" plate? Go ahead. This is as retarded as the man being made to give up his "TOFU" license place.

Wasn't there some similar plate that was proposed in Florida and South Carolina that got shot down as well? I think that like Hali said the main complaint was that there weren't ones available for other religions or atheists. Also I think that a lot of people saw it as a violation of church and state although I don't see what would be stopping other groups from making their own.

I don't give a shit what anyone puts on the back of their car. Jesus plates, Satan plates, Xenu plates - whatever.

There are just alot of people who like to bitch for the sake of bitching.
