The upcoming version update, featuring the next stage in the level cap increase, fast approaches, and the development team is feverishly preparing a veritable banquet of new job abilities and spells especially for this momentous occasion. With select jobs also set to welcome existing traits into their arsenal, there is bound to be something to satisfy every adventurer palate.

The following new job abilities will be added:

Dual Wield I for THF? Wee? Don't mind me, just suffering from DNC envy...

DRG gets another Jump, but doesn't get another Jump.

SAM and WAR: STFU, you're strong enough already?

Looks like quite an interesting update for the mage and support-line jobs, though.

Let's just hope it's not a delay reduction like it says it is, and is rather a job ability haste, much like Hasso and Haste Samba.

If it really is delay reduction, that'll screw with all of the carefully-crafted two-hander X-hit builds.

Regen III: SCH Lv.83 (Addendum: Black) [sic]

WHAT? That's so backwards.

I'm pretty sure that's a typo; I'm certain they meant to say Addendum: White, ergo the [sic].

I edited my post after reading the site again. They had no addendum next to it.

Refresh II... Mage's Ballad III... Awesome.

Refresh II will prolly be 5/tick, while Mage's Ballad III will be 3/tick, giving 5/tick with II + III. Or 9/tick with Gjallhorn...

Endark, eh? :D That'd be pretty neat against....wait, wtf is weak to Darkness anymore :|

Eh, extra damage is extra damage even if its like 5 per hit.

Looking at these adjustments, I'm quite interested in them personally. However, I am also looking particularly at a few...

Divine Caress - I feel this will be a wonderful asset, especially when combined with Divine Seal / Divine Veil, in order to mitigate the harsh repetition of most enemies constantly using the same TP move over and over. When combined with Erase, especially, this seems like it could really open up the possibilities of essentially causing new Bar effects to effects we cannot touch as of yet.

Saboteur - Just a testament to the RDMs enfeebling mastery. I'm sure it'll be quite useful, when used properly.

Soul Jump - Even though it shares the recast with High Jump, I feel that this can be useful whenever the DRG is capable of causing higher numbers in damage. Meaning this has the same usefulness as Spirit Jump, as a hate control type jump. Of course, if this jump shares the same hate shedding effect as High Jump, then it not only would help to remove it from the DRG but also keep the DRG from gaining too much from the damage caused from the jump.

Enlight & Endark - Finally we receive the final two En-spells. Of course, they are given to the two jobs that would be best suited for them. Yes, many people probably think the RDM should get them. However, RDM is more of the elemental nature, while PLD and DRK are obviously more towards Light and Darkness, respectively.

Addle - I cannot help but wonder what this is.. however, according to most dictionaries, this word is best described as 'Confuse'. So it's possible we may be gaining access to a spell that will act like the old Final Fantasy spell that causes enemies to attack themselves, teammates, and enemies alike equally.

Animus Augeo & Minuo - Curiosities abound with these two. However, further research similarly done with Addle shows initial potential that these are the Enmity augmenting spells they mentioned. Of course, Augeo means to enhance and Minuo means to suppress.

Break - BLMs rejoice, as players finally have access to the potent status effect: Petrification. I'm sure it'll cost more than Sleep, but unlike Sleep, this wouldn't be broken by damage of any kind.

Stoneja & Waterja - Ultimate forms of the elemental spells, aside from the super spells (i.e. Flare, Break, Tornado, etc). In older Final Fantasies, these were the best spells available to the mage jobs. I'm interested to see how these will go!

Sentinel's Scherzo - A scherzo is a movement. I do have to wonder if this may be a damage-mitigation song, or something else.. Though, I'm sure it's the former due to the name.

Myoshu & Yurin - Myo means 'command (n), dark (n), decree, destiny, life, strange (uk) (adj-na,n), unusual' while Shu means 'actor'. Yu means 'at last, beyond doubt, hot water (n), increasingly, more and more' while Rin means 'cold, companion (n), counter for wheels and flowers (n)'. Any thoughts on these?

Ahh, bad gouge on my part then. I'll edit the original.

nice for rdm, will make the tier II category shine even more and open options possibly for different merit mix ups pending how saboteur actually affects spells and what caps it

Slow II 3mins and para 1.5 well most likely you'll be able to keep a fully potent Slow II every 5mins (duration increases by hopefully at least 1.5 times or higher so almost 5mins riding timer)

enhancing Dia 3 and its duration will be pretty sweet for those zerg situations and not require more merits for its duration

blu job ability is a nice touch, very nice coupled with OAT Weapons/gear we only get stronger still amazing how much self haste/refresh improves dot and damage over time of all types mostly because you can keep a constant effect at all times rather than rely on someone to do it for you

Massacre Elegy ; ; where?

Another Tier mazurka and March was also on my wishlist><

maybe next update ; ;

I love that SE gives the names of two NIN spells and zero description of what they do...

Yes.. they tend to leave us to do the work. Well, at least on the non-Japanese-speaking players' part. ^^; But none-the-less, I think the little bit of research I did should say something about the potential of what they MIGHT be.. then again, sometimes they can do things a bit strangely, too.. <.<;

saw the new empyrean ws skills

and I tell you if i was a monk or dark knight I'd be pissed because they just recycled some old ass animations for mnk they just added a hit to combo and called it good and drk looks oddly familiar with that spinning

but sword users get to be....Zorro!

At least you get names!

As a BLU, the most info we get from Squeenix is the fact that there are new spells out there, and maybe a still shot or two.

Thank goodness for .dat mining.

Guessing the three new Abyssea areas will be Misareaux Coast, Vunkerl Inlet, and Attohwa Chasm.
Also, pictures show what looks like the 3rd generation of JSE (example:Artifact, Relic)
Looks like SMN, RNG, MNK, BLM or RDM, WHM, COR, BLU, DRG, NIN, SAM, BST, PLD, and DRK gear.

Some new ArkAngel statues for the moghouse, and some repainted mobs.

sam looks awesome

smn is a different look, looks a lot more serious tones used than the regular bright and frolickish colors used but looks cool
