I <3 McCain. He totally shoulda won instead of Bush.

If I could vote, I would vote McCain for Prez in 2008, I hope he runs, and considering the alternatives, I hope he wins.

I'm from AZ and i hate McCain. Infact i voted against him last time i got a chance. I hate him because he seems to always get his nose into shit that isnt his like the steriods in baseball stuff. In my opinion he is no better than that gloria allred lady whos also always on the news. I like my officials moderate and not attention whores.

I dont mind if he has an opinion, i dont like the fact that he feels it necessary to jump into the interview chair and tell everyone what his opinion is all the time.

there are 100 senators yet he is the one that is always on television. Does he have a position of higher importance say equivolent of speaker of the house .. no. I dont really agree or disagree with his stance on the issues more or less than most officials but imo he is an attention whore so i voted for the other person who i cant even remember the name of anymore. When no difference can be found on the issues go with how you feel about the official as a person and in that regard he fails for me.

As for getting him recalled he doesnt have to worry hes moderate enough and hasnt really screwed anything up that badly to get recalled.

What has he screwed up at all?

I'm not trying to say he's a saint or anything, I really just can't understand why you don't like him.

Seeing him on TV more than any other senator... You do live in his home state... That's just to be expected. I mean, I only see him on the news when he was the main proponnet of a bill that just passed.

McCain is awsome. God, it's people like that that are gonna convince me to change over to Democrat

lmao at McCain as a democrat but i lived in Tennessee before i moved to AZ and i had a negative opinion of him before i moved here.

Why?

I live in TN now and I hardly ever see him on the news talking to a camera.

While he does support his party whenever he can he has numerous issues that he tends to lean to the democrat side of things. To put it simply democrats love him because he gouges the president on the interrogation tactics and torture, he takes more than a few democratic positions on other key issues that don't get talked about in the news much. He is, however, a loyal republican. The core don't like him because he asks too many questions about sore issues to the administration. There are many republicans who do like him just not all the time.

I think the guy should be president.

This is all but a direct quote from Fox News last night during the O'reilly factor, one of the contributors made these statements and i pretty much agreed across the boards, seeing as how they have their finger on the repbulican pulse of america i felt comfortable paraphrasing.

... but WHY?

You confirm that republicans do NOT like him, but you don't say why.

All I get is that he "...always get his nose into shit that isnt his like the steriods in baseball stuff." Noone likes him, but noone has a reason.

This strongly reminds me of the 2004 election when I asked my mother, who doesn't vote, who she would vote for. She said "Bush because I don't like John Kerry, he has funky hair".

Because he basically took an unimportant issue and grandstanded it. His argument was that legislation was necessary or else everyone's children would be flocking to steroids (WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!?!). There is no legislative issue for steroids in baseball. Think about it, why should congress force professional athletes to take blood/urine tests? What a fucking horrible invasion of privacy. Also if you're going to make professional athletes (who work in the private sector, these aren't government employee's) submit to these tests, why not CEOs and then who else after that? Also what other tests should citizens of our government be forced to take?

Grandstanding is a fucking disgusting thing to do and all politicians do it.

"There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty." - John Adams

He has his good aspects, but I disgaree with him much more than I agree.

I dislike him for these reasons:
-anti-abortion
-Anti-social security privitization
-Voted against the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 which phased out many of the farming subsidy programs.
-He voted against the second tax cut passed in 2003.
-Defends the estate tax.
-Supports expanded legislation on health care. (health care is good, but government is too inefficient to handle it compared to normal businesses imo)
-He is a global warming chicken little. (I know I could put that in nicer terms, but I'm just sick of people over reacting)
-Supports the inclusion of intelligent design teaching in schools.
-He is 70 right now. Should be elected in 2008 he would be 72 to 76. That's already pretty old for a position requiring a quick and clear mind, and too old to run for re-election should he win in 2008. That could be a good thing though depending on how he faired the first four years.

I like him for these reasons:
-Supports stem cell research. (How he supports this and opposes abortion confuses me)
-He supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq and supports staying.
-He fights against pork barrel spending.
-He was a naval aviator and went through a pow camp in Vietnam for five-and-a-half years.
-Describes himself as conservative on many fiscal issues, although I haven't seen that too much.

I'f I have to take a drug test to make my measley 8.75 an hour, they shuold have to take a drug test to make the millions that they do. Personally, I don't think it's right for me, but drugs, no matter what kind I take will not change my performance at all except maybe to worsen it. If a Proffesional athelete uses steroids (which are not entirly safe) then he has an unfair advantage over his colleagues. I don't see what the fuss is about here.

To an extent. he claims to want to make allowances for rape and incest. Without testing for confirm at that.

Absolutlely nothing wrong with an estate tax. Especially when it would be limited to estates worth more than 1 million dollars like several Senators had pushed for.

Global warming is a very real threat to america...I couldn't even type that with a straight face

My guess on this one is that he has invested in a company seeking to find a new/btter fuel source. Just protecting his business interests. Ya know, like Cheney helped to make sure Haliburton got contracts to do work in Iraq. Then when bush cleared a bunch of scared saudis to fly out of the country after 9/11? They were scared, rightly so, and wanted to get the fuck outta here. He let them fly to protect the family business interests. Or like when Al Gore pushed so hard on funding to help create the internet. I'm sure he made a pretty penny off of that one.
