So using a broken mechanism in the game to claim Fafnir/Nidhogg isn't the same as using a broken mechanism to claim whatever a BST is fighting? What the fuck are you thinking Vang? If removing the flies .dat files STILL KEPT the flies around, just with no graphic, you'd be right, but it doesn't. Again, fucked up coding on Square's fault. You're abusing a system either. Notice I never even mentioned botting, so why did you? Botting is indeed not comparable to either of those methods.

Theres a big difference between MMOs and Game tourney's, and that is theres nothing to win in an MMO. Virtual items aren't comparable to real life fame and money. It's two seperate ideas. Getting a shit load of Rare/Exclusive gear will not get you anything else beyond that. Beating a bunch of pros at Street Fighter will. Apples and Oranges. You don't "Play to Win" when you're on the couch playing with your buddys are you? Fuck no, unless otherwise I guess I've confused the term "game" with "work." If you aren't having fun playing an MMO for $50 + $20/each Expansion + $12.50-$15/month subscription, why are you sinking so much money into it? Theres also no such as a Video Game Addiction. Thats such a brash use of the word, it makes me sigh whenever someone says. Theres a big difference between losing track of time, and being physically addicted to something.

Anyway, back ontopic. Had they just left Deniro to die, there'd be no arguement, regardless of the fucked up system Square has in place with Charm. Their mistake was keeping him alive, that was their fault. It's not their responsibility to see that he lives, but they are at fault for capitalizing on an issue Square's too fucking retarded to fix.

first bolded part, tell that to the gil sellers.

Second bolded part, we both know that if they would have left Deniro to die, he would have posted a flame about them jsut standing there looking at him, waiting for him to die. I have seen many of those flames.

First: Gil Sellers are doing something technically very illegal. Breach of Contract, Tax Evasion, etc. Different ship, however much of an equal chance they should have at NMs(hence MO's contradictory post early one)

Second: Different can of worms, different responses. He would've been shot down with "It's not their responsibility to keep you alive." And they'd be right. Theres nothing morally, contractually, responsibly wrong about just standing there watching someone die in a video game. Unless their on your team, but hey, he wasn't right?

To back Jimm up with further proof... I've got SSs of the whole thing going down.

It all starts with him sending that tell to Jimm, followed by this tell.

talk16vz.jpg

To cover himself? I don't know, I don't care. Blew it off and said whatever. Then he sent a bat to fight the dolls right next to the camp. Where, not only my party was, *but* there were other campers as well.

39rd.jpg

After this one, he stopped. For a little while anyway... then Alky pops. We don't even get the claim, but Deniro seems to want to MPK us, along with anyone else in the area. It's not like you can easily move Alky away from the center of the room either without getting a ton of links.

12xp1.jpg

20db.jpg

The doll killed his bat, so it chased him down but he ended up killing it over by the steps. But, I ask you Deniro? Who's trying to MPK who now? We didn't even get the claim, and your so desprate for seeking your "revenge" that you decide to try and mpk us?

Deniro said:
tryed to mpk me = Bitch ass tatics

So what's that make you?

Deniro said:
srry i don't do dirty shit like that jonas i got better things to do with my time

lol... Right. It's bad enough you try to MPK us, trying to get doll to explode when you know have to fight Alky in middle of the room unless someone is clearing giants, or by some luck its clear to run him to stairs. But, I bet if we got claim, ran it to stairs, you would have decided to "xp" right ontop of us. But seriously, it's bad enough to try to MPK us, but willing to take out two people not even with us and part of this? What the heck is that. Not only this, but you're also harrassing other BHE members completely not related to this matter.

talk29cp.jpg

In that case, I was just trying to level up my healing magic curing you yesterday. And, Jonas was just trying to skill up his archery, I'm sure. There just happened to be a weird, extra big looking giant walking around that we figured might give him better skillups on. -.- Don't even play that game. BS should is supposd to come out of cows, not your mouth.

Same to you. I was forgiving before, but after this, no more.

It's not THAT much of a differet can of worms. It's still a friggin' flame abour morals. Claiming a NM when it goes unclaimed is morally wrong, and so is watching someone die. "It's not their responsiblity to keep him alive", no, it's not. And we don't have to stay away from the NM so he can kill it either. They did cure him, Deniro did lose to the NM. They did claim him and kill him.

Let me ask another question, was Deniro kicked from BoL, or did he leave on his own accord?

lol what a load of shit

when there's no pots i kill dolls if thats a crime so sue me

i told u guys that u should move from where i was trying to exp at b4 i done anything

-- sorry if u didn't heed my advice --

also if i was gonna mpk u do u think i would use a non agroing no linking mob to do it with i pulled them shits back after claim

i would have rounded up every giant in the room moved to the middle and warped lol

but alas i didn't all i see me doing here is trying to make some exp and once again i seen to be the badguy.

as for the rest of it yes you can kiss my sack lol and you are skum bastards for stealing and trying to pull this bullcrap again

My thoughts:

First: Illegal or not, it still has value, to alot of people. And which is aparent with how many people "buy gil". I have read so many posts on message boards about people buying gil, and since all those websites are still around selling it, it must be valuable to a whole bunch of people, illegal or not. With how many players I see running around below level 60 on their first job who buy a SH, especially now with the prices, I don't see how people can say people don't buy gil. The farm? Maybe. They craft? Possibly. They buy gil? Probably. That's just my oppinion on seeing a player who has no idea how to play the game, but somehow has over 25 mil in gear by 60 on their first character, and job. Then again, they could just have a rich friend who's generous, but yes. I think this game does have alot more value then you give credit for, if it didn't, we all wouldn't be here posting, whining, flaming, etc. Let alone play so much. And true, I don't think there is a "video game addiction", but there is a fun addiction, and face it, games are fun. :P

Second: This has taught me a very important lesson. As far as flames and whatever go, it's lose - lose. Get flamed for not helping, get flamed for helping. It's pointles. Now I see why so many people "don't care", because no matter what you do, it's wrong in someones eyes. It can't be generalized though, there are a lot of really great people around, there just happens to be alot of complete morons around too. I'll think twice about curing anyone from now on though. Knowing me, next time I cure a random player dying, I'll get flamed for interupting a blood port. I'm the kind of person who likes to help people, therefore whm is a fun job for me. If I see someone low on hp, my first reaction is to cure.

what contradictory post? i didnt in any way contradict anything i said. the only thing i could think of is the fact i said that "i would rather any NA HNMLS get claim over the sellers"
of course they should get an equal chance. i didnt say they shouldnt. however, would you rather the gil go to someone that is gonna fund these noob players that have shit better than most people that get their money legit.

The only value gil sellers put on things, is how much of a sucker they hook in their con. Thats all it is. A giant con. They live off people who don't know any better. Those who don't realize exactly how easy it is to make gil in this game. Adaman Hauberk, Ridill? These things hold no weight in the real world. They have no value, other than attachment and obsession. But lets not flood this thread about Gil Selling anymore if we can.

And see, this whole thing is based off the fact that he was killing Pallas while on BST. BST kinda falls under a different code, because you have to deal with people who don't understand the job fully(I'm not saying you don't, regardless if you do or not.) I've had my fair share of people "help" me out on BST. Killing my mobs while I search for a new pet, thinking I'm running away. Curing me and taking a hit while having damage spikes on(FYI, this kills exp on the mob, it's like having a high level player hit the mob, and then you kill it.) The method for camping NMs as a BST is extremely different, and totally against you. His flames against you for not curing him would be unwarranted unless he asked you to help him. Impulse tells you to help, however, the fickle situations BSTs are usually in, topped with an ignored problem with charm, usually causes problems like this one.

Skaw, again, what part of 'assumed risk' isn't getting through? A 68BST fighting a 72 NM is running a lot of understood, calculated risks when they're trying to solo something like Pallas or Alky. If Deniro wants to say that he had no idea Pallas would go unclaimed if he mischarmed I'd call him either ignorant or a fucking liar.

WHETHER OR NOT CLAIMING IS BUGGED THROUGH MISCHARMS IS IMMATERIAL. It's there. It's likely been there since BST was implemented. A BST knows that's a possibility when your entire strategy involves sending a limited number of available charmable pets against a NM that's higher level than both you and your possible pets. He could have taken precautions both to keep the claim and increase his chances of taking Pallas down. He didn't. Assumed risk.

XPing my ass. You knew damn well what you was doing. If you was like any RESPECTABLE bst who was xping you would have called your pet who was fighting a NON linking mob a little bit away from those that were camping in the middle (before you ass was even there "xping" i might add ) as not to potentially kill them on a Blow up from a doll. I just find it a lil ironic you did it once when the dolls got close to us ... then afterwards "Warn" us (which i personally believe is your "scapegoat" as you doing the right thing cause you was "xping" a pretty lame one if you ask me). Then you did it again once the NM spawned. If you was exping why wait so fucking long to do it again .. since you claim you ran out of Pots so quickly. Complete BS end of story...we all know your full of shit.

Yes, but in this affluent society... it does have value to some. lol. It's like baseball cards, why are they worth so much? A little picture with some stats on it? I can find the same thing, a little picture, print some stats on the back, but that doesnt' mean its worth anything. It comes down to who holds value in what, and even you can't deny, just because you don't find monitary value in something, doesn't mean someone else will. "One mans trash is another mans treasure" kind of thing. I'd love to discuss this in a diffrent post, or somewhere, it's getting away from the matter at hand.

I know bst is a difficult job. :? I got annoyed and gave up trying to level mine for that pcc bcnm. lol. But honestly, his hp was dropping from 100% - 10-30% between my cure4/5's. What's the cast time on a cure? lol. Maybe he didn't realize actually how many links he had... there was Pallas first of all, a linked giant w/ its own pet, a failed charm bat *not sure why he ran to charm an Incubus Bat when he failed on the Dire Bat*, then he aggroed the other Incubus Bat that's in the little tunnel from the main room to the steps while charming the other. People screw up. I've trained myself by accident many times trying to pull a mob, I'm sure everyone has at one time. Just don't start spouting BS off about it all.

akisu no sense in arguing with a guy who sits on qcdn all day refreshing the page looking for something to complain about. besides he's the only one on deniros side. deniro just made himself look like a dumbass.

No reason really to flame anyone based on their own personal morality if it doesn't directly hurt anyone.

Akisa having the moral principles that you should cure someone who's dying and that it's ok to take a NM once you're at the point that you're running out of MP trying to keep original claimer alive... it doesn't hurt anyone.

If she was never there, or had never been involved, Deniro would have died, and having been dead he would have have lost the NM anyway.

To say saving someone and taking the NM off them as they are about to die is worse than simply letting someone die and taking it is simply a personal moral choice. Everyone else's views on the matter are meaningless. Akisu can feel like it was right or she can feel guilty, that's her own preference.

When NMs start getting stolen from people who are doing FINE, like in the case of Aquarious(which I point out because it was mentioned, but I conclude it has nothing to do with this considering none of the same people were actually involved, nor were any of the same LS), then there is a source of conflict. Because someone else's morals, that it's ok to grab a NM just because its title turned yellow, affects someone else. All Jonas and Akisu did was change the changeover so Deniro didn't have to die for them to grab claim. This was an act of kindness, and stupid bullshit flames like this are the reason they happen less often and less often.

You know, on some servers when a NM comes unclaimed everyone in attendance or a representative from each LS in attendance does a /random and highest lot gets the next shot at it... wonder if we will ever have that level of selflessness in this server.

20k Dynamis Currency vs. 1k Dynamis Currency.

Do you even have to wonder?
20k is normal for most servers, 10k is low nowadays

Um actually a lot of servers still have to sell these for less then 5k each simply because there are not enough buyers.
im interested to see any server that sells coins for 5k a piece. because those ppl are getting relics for 1/3 the price. there may be 1 server if any out of all of them that has coins for 5k. that was so long ago, and inflation has hit every part of this game including currency.

No, once again they are not the same. Not even close. Taking a BSTs unclaimed mob IS NOT CHEATING. Using third party software to remove .dat files IS CHEATING. So removing .dat files and botting are the same thing in terms of being illegal.

If you're getting so serious about a game where nothing is on the line(I'm talking about real items, not virtual hur,) you need to step back, and take a breather or a break. While there is competition in an MMO, it's the fun kind, like chilling at your buddies whipping their ass, or getting yours whipped, in a game. Not "HOLY FUCK YOU SHITFACE COCKSUCKER I'M GOING TO STEAL YOUR SHIT" competition.
