JP Melee tying up BST Pet camps

Is this something new or have people that play in JP prime time noticed this for a while? Every time I log on in the morning there is always some JP Melee fighting DC-EM goblin BST pets and tying up most of the camps. The main one I'm talking about is the Vunkerl Inslet camp, which is easy accessible so that might be the reasoning. I understand that no camp is BLM onry, but wouldn't FOV give much more exp/hr? Or at least do this with your pt invite flag up. I leveled BST to 75, I know how boring it is to grind on 100 exp mobs for long periods, what's the reasoning when you don't have to? The two jobs I've seen the past 3 days were NIN and BLU, not exactly party unfriendly jobs.
 
I did that on nin and drk when i only had an hour or two to play, some exp is better than no xp.

Mister JP himself. Didn't know you still played ho. Yeah, it seems I made the post too quickly, I think they're just killing an hour with some easy xp, and that's why it's the vunkerl inlet camp.
 
Eh, its cancelled atm, having some situations I have to take care of first. But ya, bst camps usually have good xp for an hour or so, and you can quit before you rip your eyes out for being boring. We need to play poker again dude.
 
Yeah, I'm heading over to Joe's tomorrow for some fireworks fun. I'll talk to him about poker then.
 
99% of the population don't understand effort vs reward from what I've noticed, in terms of EXP gained.

I was staring at a 28 DRK doing FoV in S.Champ (page1). Page 1 of M.Mountains will give way much more (and faster/safer). Plus he aggroed some gob who silenced him (WHM). I didn't save him either.

Gob pets as well know have low HP, but you get no drops except seals from them, so I prefer to steer away myself, plus I find many times the pull can get screwed up due to silly pathing issues (therefore linking the master)

Kiki, in their defense, not everyone has the experience we have on BST. We're able to look at a zone and see which mobs are going to be the easiest kills, give the best drops, so on and so forth. Being BST doesn't make you an instant genius at the game, but you know as well as I do that you get a better feel for certain situations. Like maximizing xp/hr. And long time no see, how you been?

Hiya, I xp'd at that camp on blm and understand there aren't many other options around level 64-70ish, well there are but chigoe camp is horrible imo. While I was leveling I would run a /sea by area and found no black mages exping then moved to camp to find trio's of pld, blm and what other job I don't remember. The leader of the party was a paladin, notice i said PALADIN. How on earth was I going to expect them to be at the blm pet camp with no seacom? The JP are very aware that is a black mage solo camp, for many JP black mages go there too.
 
Curiosity begs the question of why does it matter? You go to a camp, camp taken, find something else. I understand that it might be difficult or full everywhere else but it's the same issue parties have. I don't believe that shit of "needs of a party outweigh the needs of a bst", but it stands to reason that if someone is there first, and there are not enough mobs to continue with them there without destroying BOTH people's exp, why not move on and do something/somewhere else?

Saying a job doesn't have trouble finding a party is a moot point when you take into account that some people don't *like* to party, or don't have time to party. On my old character my PLD never had trouble finding a party when I wanted one, but I still chose to solo for say an hour at a time because it was all I had, or all I wanted. Sometimes people have an hour to kill before an event, and just want to get a buffer, which soloing is great for.

Also, calling something a "BLM solo spot" or "BST solo spot" seems to only act as a challenge for other jobs to solo there just as effeciently. As SE has stated many times on topics like this, if the mob is unclaimed, you have no right to it.
 
EDIT: I CAN'T READ and posted nothing relevent. (I thought it was parties taking up solo camps)

BLU's have been soloing BST pets for ages as well. Solo camps are just that solo camps. Pet camps are few and far between so FoV is way better for tank/melee jobs to solo. BLM unfortunatley doesn't do so well vs regular mobs they can't kill in a few spells, which is why it would be frustrating to see other jobs that can solo better elsewhere holding up one of the few place you can go on BLM. And lets face it, BLM isn't really the most popular kid in school for getting party invites. I think most BLMs have solo'd 95% of their levels.

I will say though the last part about taking camps just because people say they are BST/BLM camps makes you look like a little bit of an ass. No offence.

Vunker Islet E-12 camp is just the best exp you can get as BLM soloing. It is what has made it so popular. And yes, If I get to a camp that is taken, what I do is ask "time remaining" and wait for it to be available. Usually I get a response, and wait it out.
 
BST can be boring? Cletus for shame. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I love the xp grind so much I keep starting new jobs.
 
Lmao Duff you sick f*ck. As you know, the day you hit BST 75 is the happiest and saddest day of your FFXI career. I still hop on it quite a bit, but I couldn't take another job to 75 as /bst only. Kiki needs to have her head checked ;)

(been doing BLU/BST, some MNK/BST and finished WHM/BST a few weeks ago. BLU is already 52 and plowing on fast, it'll be 75 very soon. Thinking about PUP/BST (not going to use automaton except to cure) and SMN/BST, but still planning)
