JP Players (Serious flame)

What's wrong with an attack macro? "/a <bt>" I use it all the fucking time and hit flash and provoke simultaneously (Yes, you can do both at the same time if you know which to hit first.)saving me about 3 secs which I could use for provoking again. That's just me on my PLD, and that's what makes me a good one.

Oh and yes, I do pay attention. It also helps in places like Crawler's next where you don't know which tunnel the mob will come from. Not to mention that huge nutsack hanging from the ceiling blocking your view.

As for that bio + stun that he has on his macro, I bet the JPs were pissed because he would stand there so that those spells would be able to go off. You should make seperate macros for those spells.

That is all >>

I explained the problems with using <bt> for anything except *maybe* a /target macro, in my previous post. It basically can really muck stuff up when you've got two or more mobs at camp (such as a pop, a link, or an aggro, one of them hopefully napping). There's no real consistency in whether <bt> picks one claimed mob or another, so some of the time it'll have you going after the sleeping mob instead of the mob you're supposed to be fighting.

This becomes increasingly common the more fast-paced your party style is, because eventually the idea will be to have the next mob cheerfully napping at camp when the first mob dies. Ultimately you never want any macro to have you do *anything* to a <bt>, except possibly target it. But definitely not anything that could damage it, such as pulling out your weapon.

As for putting other stuff into the macro, it's not *quite* so bad with an "/attack, Flash, voke" macro on PLD as with Helius's macro (since Stun is more situational and he has no need to get the hate from it, and Bio just plain sucks), but it's still got concerns. Mainly having to do with the respective ranges. You can pull out your weapon when the mob is 30 distance away, you can Flash it at about 21 distance, and you can voke it at about 16 distance.

Which means you'll probably need a few pauses in the macro to get the timing right (if you hit it when the mob is 30 distance), and if by some chance - say, a helpful RDM using gravity, or the mob taking stupidly circuitous routes to camp - it's not getting to camp as fast as expected, then the pauses in the macro don't work out either. (You definitely don't want to wait until it's *at* camp to be doing any of those things, since you can and should do them as it's approaching. So it arrives at camp and promptly wants to eat your face without first going after anyone else, which is the desirable outcome for a PLD.)

Therefore, it's easiest and most consistent to make separate macros for each, especially since you'll be wanting to be able to use Flash and voke independently (when voke's timer is up, and either when Flash's timer is up or when you need the mob to whiff for whatever reason) and not simply on incoming pulls. Then just hit the macros at appropriate times. (Even if you don't use Windower Distance, it's easy enough to learn the ranges and be able to eyeball it.)

Yes, it requires paying a bit more attention. No, it is *not* hard.

Made a spoiler do to language...I was getting pissed..

Took a quick SS. I'm on PC doing random crap and I've never been bitched at for delaying no more then a few seconds.

Well....if you think the pt members are bad-mouthing you, then chances are, you are doing something wrong. If you think you are not doing anything wrong, then you really shouldn't be worried over what they say.

Do you want to know what they were saying?
Here, let me translate it for you.

First SS:
(Helius) [/no][/away]
(Helius) OMG
(Helius) IM NOT AWAY!!!
(Helius) I'm FUCKING HERE!
(Helius) If I was away I wouldn't be typing
(Helius) Fucking prick.

(Nobring) lol what? he's angry
(Tragic) lol
(Kikuyakko) he's mad? lol
(Zeel) I don't know
(Helius) I'M FUCKING HERE!
(Kikuyakko) <insert her Refresh macro>
(Nobring) he's saying "fucking" alot lol
(Zeel) lol
(Helius) <<<< [/no] sekini (I'm assuming you were trying to say "I'm at my seat"?)

Second SS:
(Kikuyakko) <I can't read much from it only that she was talking to Tragic>
(Helius) >.>
(Helius) FUCKING JPs (nice touch really... /sarcasm)
(Helius) omg.
(Nobring) he's pushing it even for a joke lol <too blurred out to be accurate>
(Kikuyakko) [last] [notice] ok?
(Nobring) man this guy is annoying lmao
(Kikuyakko) I will kick him seriously
(Helius) [last] [notice]
(Zeel) lmao
(Helius) <<<< [no] [/away] [You can have this.] [Vegetable dishes]
(Helius) idiot
(Helius) idiot
(Nobring) Uh-huh... <obviously you didn't make any sense to them>
(Helius) Tragic. Do you speak ANY Japanese?
(Nobring) wtf is he talking about? lol <see?>

Third SS:
I'm omitting the first half since it's the same as the first one.

(Helius) <<< [/no] sekini
(Zeel) you're the "fucking"!!! lol
(Kikuyakko) can i kick him? lol
(Tragic) 30 [Minute] [See you again!] [Time for work!]
(Helius) [Pull back.]

Japanese partys I find are often fast-paced and fairly disciplined affairs, chains come fast and everyone works together as a team they all know their job and this transcends any language barriers. I personally enjoy such partys and have made a few friendships with players from there too. :)

For those that are patient, and can do their job well many rewards are within a mixed nation party, equally for those that dont wish to put a little extra effort on the table, they will fast find themselfs becoming a fifth wheel and holding the party back.

And skilling up dark magic via Bio and Stun thrown recklessly at various macroed interval's is foolhardy, you might as well do a 300tp ws at the start of the fight with souleater if you really wanna mess up the team. Oh wait you did...

I don't know which pic sums these threads from you for me.

Before you make a flame, think about what happened and see if its even worth your time making it into a post on the FB.

That foot-in-mouth picture is seriously disturbing. I mean, it freaked me out at work.

Sorry XD

I thought it was tame enough.

It's almost interesting how there is always a group of newer people thinking auto-targeting <bt> and engaging it and casting spells on it is the most wonderful thing.

I use a /target <bt> macro, but that's literally all it does. If there are multiple, manual select is the way to go (in canon, at least). Other than that, it's /assist.

I'm hoping at this point, Helius, that you're taking a step back and going 'Maybe I should tame down the way I react to things' and I hope that also includes 'Maybe I should pay attention in party instead of going to find a camera to take pictures of the screen/type up a flame about how this PLD can't keep hate during party'.

I do not play DRK, however I play PLD and BLM. In one of these jobs I'm able to use the two spells you've mentioned, Stun and Bio. I also main-tank in Dynamis, have done so in end-game and obviously in EXP as I'm level 75. I can see from what you've said and my experiences, that you're doing all these things incorrectly. So I have only one question for you.

How the fuck did you get to level 60+?

I don't have a problem with you, but I have a problem with the way you've just generalized an entire race because of your impatience, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate or play your job correctly. This display surely demonstrates why we have to go elsewhere when we see: JP ONLY.

remember back in the day when being level 60 with full af you were awed at by new players and stuff?

I miss those days ~_~;

Use /target <bt>, and then hit a Provoke macro which should be separate. It tends to be safer than /a <bt> or /ja "Provoke" <bt>.

hay guies, I'd like to remind you that this flame is very serious and should be taken with extreme seriousness :(
If ur not serious then gtfo!!!1

Just wanted to add that [Pull back.] is not "pull back" as in, pulling back a monster in Japanese. It actually means, "move back a little." (To prevent aggro or what nots.) So, by spamming that you probably confused them even more. From the screen shots, it seemed like *ANY* line of Japanese you saw, you assumed they were going to kick you because you went afk earlier. So you went nuts. They kicked you because you were swearing and being rude. Calm down dude.

I needa 'splain myself more it seems lol and Calv I've been 70 for quite some time you bish xD

I forgot to mention I use a controller since I play on ps2 which helps me excecute my macro commands a lot faster than I would on keyboard.

OK as for links, only way <bt> would fail is if 2 people pulled at the same time or if a blm slept a mob without saying "LInk, careful guys" of course by then you would know that 2 mobs have been pulled. Unless you're not paying attention you will target the mob manually. It's also good to have a /recast on both provoke and flash if you're a macro spammer like myself.

AS for the time a mob gets to camp, I usually have it targetted about eh 10 feet away and hit voke then flash which should make it look like both animations are simultanously going. And yes, I do have seperate macros for each command.

Sorry for teh derail, but I had to say something lol.

I was in a party with 3 JP members. I'm on PS2 and PC at the same time. The JPs threaten to leave because I don't attack within the first 10 seconds. And because at times, the mob moves and I can't see it. Which only happened a couple times.

Time to inject some personal experience with what your perception is of "only a couple times"

I partied with Helius with my rdm a couple of times from lvls 56-60 and since first party I right away knew he was a problem. But being a sucker for punishment I pt'd with him again and I got to know more of who Helius really is.

Right at the start of our party Helius says he needs to fix a couple of things on his pc so he goes afk for only a couple of minutes which really isn't an issue since most people upon getting to camp go get drinks and such so that's no biggy. The party starts of pretty good but after like the third mob Helius starts going afk during pulls and even the leader had to do a couple of <call>'s to get him to come back. He comes back without even a word, pretends it didnt happen and we keep at pulling/killing.

After a few more min he starts to only engage once the mob is at about 50-65%, this happens a couple of times but I don't make an issue of it at first. Then instead of engaging at at 65% he just entirely misses a mob here and there without engaging at all so I had to say something, I dont have a photographic memory but I do remember when I run into jerks so I will try and type this to my best recollection.

me> dude seriously helius wtf?
helius(after finally engaging when mob is almost dead)> what?
me> dude you need to stop going afk, you engaging way late on the mobs
helius> im using my pc at the same time
me> ... dude please pay attention to the party, cant be going afk every second
helius> Ive only done it a couple of times (around 15 times i counted) I'm trying to do something on my pc
me> you need to just stop working on pc and pay attention to pt man
helius> dude this isnt a merit pt, it doesnt matter if i dont engage right away
me> it doesnt have to be a merit pt, you should just pay attention to party
helius> i only am like 10 seconds late on engaging
partymemberX> 10 seconds can mean alot in merit pt's
helius> this isnt a merit pt...
me> its just common courtesy that if your gonna seek pt and get invited, you are gonna pay attention to what your doing
me> and not wait till mob is at 56% till you engage
helius> well sorry if this game isnt my life!! im sorry I have a life outside this game, maybe you should quit if you cant deal.
me> man just show common courtesy please, pay attention so your not leeching
helius> ooh guess i have no courtesy

at that point i just realized there was no talking to the douche so I just waited the pt out, which wasn't very long.

This guy is an asshole plain and simple. After looking at his last post on kenchion, which I partied with and found to be a decent tank, I think now I know what he was doing on his PC while partying.

My conclusion? Helius sucks at life. The end.
