JP players, where art thou?

I know for a fact that QCDN is not reaching many JP players.
I would like to work on changing that if possible.
I know there are some issues between NA and JP players in the game, but I believe that those are mostly limited to certain individuals and do not represent the general game population's view of each other on either side.

The main language at QCDN is obviously English. That doesn't mean that there couldn't be a Japanese localization of it. Clearly the language barrier seen in-game would extend to QCDN as well, but I do believe there are some workable solutions that will allow NA and JP players to interact.

I don't really want to get into the details of it, mainly because there are very few details as of now, and because this may just be about nothing if there is no interest from the JP side.

So, I am looking for JP players. Players with contacts to JP-only linkshells. Players who frequent JP-only linkshell forums (if there are any). Send me a PM if you don't want to "come out" in this thread. :)

You should consider making a forum on QCDN that is formally catered to the JP who do not understand english. A forum like the General Discussion section we have here, but where people can write Japanese and possibly introduce basic translating methods.

I run with HNMLS and their leader is Kurei. He doesn't understand english very well at all, but with common translates it is easy to understand him and vice versa. Payouts, gather together times, and weekly scheduling isn't very hard to understand. However, when a few of us NA's start speaking english in the shell...Honestly I feel it's kind of rude on our behalf -- sticking with translates isn't too hard even when talking in english. The rivalry between NA and JP may seem pretty thick, especially with BACCANO and JDA..Although we all seem to get along, all shells have atleast one or two NA players in them (not sure about BACCANO - Lucifars)

In any sense, if this were to be taken seriously -- a new forum that hosts for JP players to talk with one another (from the Quetz server) would be the best idea imo. This is only one idea from one person, so maybe some other people could comment and give their opinion...More ideas would be great.

I think this would be a great idea if we can get Japanese players to join the QCDN community. If there is some sort of communication tool we can use to talk to them, that'd be great too.

We also have to be careful, however, of people that would abuse the right to the translator, or access to their boards. I, myself, have never had a problem with a Japanese player. But I've had a tough time with a lot of the American players, and I do know that there are some who will troll around their boards (or try too, at least) swinging racist phrases around and basically being assholes.

You could always ban them though, Sculli. :3

i dont think the JP peoples would think much of us with an area such as the flame board lol, someones probly flamed a few of their friends in there somewhere...

I'm sure any JP player worth having on the board can recognize a troll when s/he sees one. Roofie got banned for blatant racism. I doubt it'd be tolerated. Offending the JP shouldn't be a problem. If we can get a larger audience with the JP in QCDN, I think we'd be all the better for it.

Maybe you can crack a deal with one of those translator sites. In return they get hits from a community that would expand into average users of their software which means more attention to their advertisments, To intergrate their translation system into QCDN's interface will be expensive but atleast they can take credit for their adds, and they will also be able to advertise for companies of many languages. Such a site would be able to handle more than English and Japanese.

Catering to JP members in QCDN would require admins that are very fluent in Japanese and english, and are very loyal to the founder. And have them run the Japanese side.

A board that has a NA side and a JP side would be exciting and most entertaining with a center featuring all the same topics with a translator accompanied with a mear stroke of a key (anything to avoid copy and paste would make it happen). If the NA and JP "sides" become secluded, then the project is a success and the 2 sides can be eliminated.

Without a good (how you say) symbiotic relation with theTranslator site, the amount of money to make this happen would probably be even more obscene than expected.

This is my imagination and i don't see why it would be impossible, just expensive, and more expensive without the aid of the Translation site. It would however be good for them to invest in QCDN because it would give them a massive chunk of regulars inceeasing their advertising values. But QCDN can only offer the site promise. Maybe seeking a Japanese board administrator would help in this case.

When you outside the box, there is also how much distance you are from it lol.

NA = (Too Weak) Phone Happosai (Subtle Blow) (Job) now (Yes, Please)

Then the old NA players will come out and the huge flame war will break out.

Then the flameboard will melt this servers DB and qcdn will create a small sun in someones dataserver.

Sculli, you can't afford the bandwidth for a sun...

but then they would say: NA {No Thanks} {Fuck you all} NA {sucks}

edit: belive me this isnt coming out of random.....dont ask >.<

This is where I see the largest problem. Since I don't speak Japanese at all, and since I really don't want to give anyone access to the QCDN DB, the whole thing is not likely going to work out.

Deuce, check your PM regarding your two sig images. Thanks.

Unless you have that wickid translator system set to work for you anywhere.

I don't know, if JP came here on a wide scale, i think the Quetzalcoatl server would be the highest request for world pass. Two different languages going at it in a Flameboard, and sharing tips and trades in other disscussion boards is so un-heard of.
