Well not much has been said except new NMs and such.... So does this mean there will be items and such, because of the NMs?

I hope there will be some cool low-mid level stuff.

I hope they will add more alternate exp spots for level 70+ <.<

Aren't riverne sites good for limit? It's usually pretty empty 90% of the time, another 9% is ppl doing missings or farming goodies.

the higher lvl u r, the less xp u get in capped places

The FFXI development team will soon add a slew of notorious monsters! These monsters may be challenged in several areas, and others may be discovered during all-new quests! As if that weren't enough, brand-new battlefields await, including rematches with formidable opponents from Chains of Promathia! Keep your eyes peeled for this exciting new update!

More information will be released at the time of the update in mid-July.

Whats that mean? People hafta fight stuff like Ultima and Omega again for future missions? O.O

Might be ENMs with promathia storyline bosses or something.
Ghah I really need to get my act together on the new expansion. Still on riverne A :x

And maybe lower the spawn timer on Ullikummi... or at least make it public what his timer/spawn conditions actually are...

Set yourself manually to limit mode (rather than exp mode, where you get limit points automatically when your buffer's full and get exp to fill up your buffer until that point), and you get full, rather than reduced, exp - that is, limit points - in capped places. Dunno if you get chains or not but at least you're not getting 50% base exp.

Obviously only works if the job you're taking to the capped place is 75 out in the rest of the game, couldn't set it to limit mode otherwise.

Missions, no. To incorporate that stuff into missions would involve giving a plot reason for it. This sounds majorly like optional stuff - presumably for practical rewards such as gil, exp, or items. Like BCNMs and ENMs.

I see, I figured limit worked the same way, I guess not.

heh low level -mid game has enough....MORE END GAME CRAP DAMNIT!

Don't think so, unless its a special rule in level caped areas. Otherwize Limit points and exp points work exactly the same way

It is indeed a special rule in level-capped areas. If you're in exp mode, you get either a. however much exp you should get (based on the enemy level vs. your *real* level), or b. 50% of however much exp someone at your *capped* level would get. Whichever is more.

So, say, a 40 in Phomiuna (capped at 40) would get full exp. A 70 in Phomiuna (capped at 40) would get exactly half that. But a 41 in Phomiuna would only get a little bit less than the 40 in Phomiuna. A 42 would get a bit less than that, and so on until the exp you'd get for your real level, is less than 50% of the exp you'd get for your capped level. At which point the second rule takes over and the exp doesn't decrease any lower than that 50% mark.

That is if you're in exp mode. Which is anyone who's not 75 real level *and* in limit mode. (In other words, most people are in exp mode.) This even applies if you're in exp mode, but you're 75-with-full-buffer and so you're getting limit points.

If someone *is* in limit mode, it's much simpler. They get exp (or rather, limit points) just like that level 40 person. So while the 75-with-full-buffer in exp mode and the 75 (full buffer or not) in limit mode are partying together in a level-capped area ... the person in exp mode will in fact be getting exactly half as much limit points as the person in limit mode.

Which does, of course, mean that if you go to a level-capped area as your 75 job, you should set yourself to limit mode manually beforehand to take advantage of this.
