Hello people,

Your favorite frenchie is trying to cook up a decent jump set and he needs some input on what he's doing! Feel free to add any constructive criticism!

Spoiler:

Main: Thalassocrat
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Bibiki Seashell
Head: Drachen Armet +1 (Currently: jackshit)
Neck: Chivalrous Chain (Currently: Love Torque)
Ear1: Brutal Earring
Ear2: Knight's Earring
Body: Drachen Mail +1 (Currently: Nuevo Coselete (pld version..))
Hands: Hydra Finger Gauntlets
Ring1: Iota Ring
Ring2: Sattva Ring
Back: Amemet Mantle +1
Waist: Warwolf Belt
Legs: Barone Cosciales
Feet: Drachen Greaves

That's what I came too. Not sure about switching my Love Torque and I can only upgrade one af+1 atm. Personally I'd go with the helm, not sure how much impact +1str/vit and 7 att will make versus +8vit on my head.

Any thoughs? Anything I should know? Seems good?

Don't overdo the VIT bonuses. You don't want to boost VIT at the expense of the usual damage modifiers. It'd be like stacking DEX at the expense of accuracy and attack for Penta Thrust because DEX is a secondary modifier, etc.

Use your usual melee set, and throw in VIT where you can without sacrificing primary stats, you'll get much better return than looking like a Paladin and missing when you jump.

Tag nailed it; Stack Vit where you can't stack acc/str/dex. Consistent numbers are better than spiking (and missing) hits.

I guess I can do that too, I guess I'll go do some tests outside to try to find a good balance between every parameters. The only thing bugging me is every time I ask people about acc/att is that I get different answers. Some people are telling me that it's very important and other are telling me that it makes close to no differences. I'll have to make my own answer about the topic I guess :). Thanks for the input guys, very appreciated :).

Jump uses the same modifiers as a normal attack, with some boosted stat modifiers. If it wasn't, attack food would make your regular melee hits do more damage than your Jumps, which is exactly opposite the reality.

There are two main ways to gear up jump.
THe most obvious one is the acc/atk methodology you read earlier.
The other one is to add dex until capped as a factor in an attempt to cap crit during jumps. This strategy only works on colibri obviously.

I was wondering about this myself. I think I need to tweak a few things now and see how it fairs. If I may ask though, can you tell me which of these I should be using:

Heca Harness > Narasimha Vest (Or AJ for that matter)?
Pallas or Heca > River Gaunts? (RSE with 6 VIT)

I think those are the only 2 I'm curious on tbh, any imput appreciated ^^

I don't have numbers, just gut feelings. If you have decent enough accuracy I think the 18atk on the AJ would serve you best. For hands, I'd personally use heca for the STR and DEX.

As a mithra, my acc should be ok... so I'll test that out and see how it works for me. My understanding was that jump acc is vit based, so would dex still be a primary acc mod for jumps and vit is a secondary?

Assault Jerkin over either of those other two for melee and Jumps. Narasimha for Wheeling Thrust if anything, since the lost Attack isn't as big a deal, but stick with AJ over Narasimha for Penta Thrust. Hecatomb over just about anything except like Ares Cuirass for WS once you have it.

Well I have 4/5 Heca, missing legs (*shakes fist* damn you fafhogg), so Heca Body is best for WS and Jumps, or just WS and use AJ for jumps?

It all depends on what gear you have available, and what WS you're talking about specifically.

I would stick with AJ for Jumps, they have more in common with autoattacks than WS. I have 4/5 too, lol, it's quite nice isn't it? :3

I love muh heca... Took me so long to get body, I actually traded a Novia for the abj lol.

I'll change my gear around a bit and test it out with AJ and see how I like it. Thanks for all the input guys and feel free to look my up in game for a better idea of my gear. I am so close to retiring my WAR and SAM just to beef up my 'goon. But thats for another thread =P
