Dunno if I've been the only one getting these...and it's caused my blacklist to break now 10 people...
You're in an exp party, or farming, or something. Suddenly, a tell pops up!
"Hey could u raise blahandblah at <pos>?"

Unfortunately, I hafto be a nice piece of crap and, as an example since this happened in Bibiki last week....trek through some IT+ at L62, across 2 1/2 panels, to find some party with a dead person (dunno their class because /anon).
No party.
I ask the person, where are they in the grid? NW-ish corner of the square, SE...
Responds with the <pos> again.

Never did find out if that was a prank or not.


Nother time, I was coffer hunting in CN, I get a tell asking for an R2 over in the secret room. So I sneak, run past crawler hunters, invis, go past beetles, crawlers, more beetles, past some water elements, and what do I find? The person I was asked to R2 sitting and resting. "Oh turns out she had r-raise on lol.."

God dammit.
OK...

Trying to get Mary to pop. I get a tell requesting Raise at G-10 or some crap, near the Gustaberg zone (how'd they even know I was WHM? had anon on and they're across the zone..)
I tele-dem, get a choco, run down there. I find the guy killing a Thunder Elemental, and he starts laughing at me and calling me an ass for going out so far to help.



Now, I'm no genius, but last I checked, our time is worth just as much as anyone elses, and moreso, pranking someone to go across a map to R2 you is a REALLY f-!king stupid idea, since alot of mages wouldn't ever consider it.


I hope everyone who does this crap gets gang-raped by hobgoblins, 'cause that's not a bomb they're hiding in their pants. -_-
 
Humm.. I actually experienced something like this not to long ago. I was in Latheine with Sakhmet (she is the whm) and we were asked to raise someone, north of the Crag, down in the cave there.

So we get dressed... :wink: and make our way there. We fall down the cliff, look everywhere and the person keeps telling us his position. I swear I checked every square inch of the grid he was giving us.

We never found him and he stopped giving ushis position all of a sudden. We spent several minutes trying to get out of there and back to the crag.

I always find it suspiscious, even if Sak was saying he probably had someone else to raise, but we never saw ANYONE down there... maybe it was a prank as well.

If people are doing that now, that's just plain stupid..... :roll:
 
Bad karma will come back and bite them when they start trying to get help for genkai and af. I don't care for blisting, so I instead keep a list of players I had bad experience with in a macro slot on a page I don't use. Important thing is to make a record of these players.

The reason I am always anonymous: I had a tell sent to me all the way in Lower Jueno. Some player was requesting a raise from me and I had never met this person before. At first I didn't find it very odd and figured the person was fairly close by. However; surprisingly(slight hint of sarcasm) they were not even close to near me. They were 2 zones away in Crawler's Nest. Now its not a long ride to CN but thats if I spend the gil out of my pocket and get a bird. That excludes the time spent searching in CN since more than likely they are hidden somewhere and me, with no map, will just have to keep getting directions(often those directions are so poor I have no choice to quit searching 30 mins later).

At that point I was kind of turned off, I mean its CN on a busy party night, why can't they get a raise from inside the zone. Well of course they wanted a raise 2. Well I did a second search for the person that sent me the tell and all I can say is "wtf?". Its was a level 54 whm asking me to spend 30 mins of my time to give a raise for free since I never accept money for a raise for a person who is probably not even that high of a level. I know that seems kind of odd but if everyone else in parties can live without raise 2 while their whm is not lvl 56+ then so can you. Well I politely asked "Why should I come out to raise a person I do not even know? Especially since they are 30 mins away and by the time I get there someone else could have raised him?" They gave me a huge attitude like asking it was riduclous and rude. Not even a minute later the person tells me they got a raise. Hmmm, maybe he did it himself since he IS a damn whm.

Btw if you think what I did was rude then you are an idiot. If I had spent the 30 mins to get a bird and find them and give a raise then thats 30 mins they could have been partying and thats ~3k more than anyone would ever lose over a raise.

Being anon is the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. It filters 90% of the useless tells I would normally get requesting any services imagineable and most of the people who do ask, know me and I would do it for free anyways.

Bloody shame though, I like having anon off so I can get parties and crap...and even if I have anon on at times, people somehow know my class (perhaps because what I can be is posted here, or something.. =P)
 
No Lavi that was not mean, mean would be to say you are comming to raise and just not going.

But yea stuid shit like that is why I am anon except when LFG, hell I get harrased while EXPing to go R2 people. Told Ethar's pt he could rot in hell the last time I got a R2 request for him.
 
Hm, I almost never go /anon. I use my /search comment to say that I'm busy if I don't want annoying /tells. Or I just say {I'm sorry, I'm busy now} to anyone that asks for help.

I just want to comment on this... I can understand getting mad if someone wants a R2 when someone else in the party can give them a R1. But if something really bad happens and almost everyone gets wiped out and none of the survivors have Raise, I think you really should go over there and at least give them a R1 so they can get everyone up and exp'ing again; if they're close, at least.

Of course, if they've been asses to you, just forget about them completely and call it bad karma that they got wiped out.
 
It was just the one raise and it wasn't the whm who was dead.

I was in dunes pling a friend of mine a while back. And someone sends me a tell to raise 2 of their members, they where at the secret beach they said. I'm at the liz camp for the level 10's. I'm considering just saying... fack that. (ahh..behold, the power of laziness. Not cheese.) But I also like to pay back what I get, and remembering the countless times other mages have tracked pretty far to raise me or a pt member, I decided to contine that kind tradition. Of course they wouldn't know where I was but eh, I said I'll brt, and told my amigo sorry man, my services as a sexy priest are needed for the dead.

He said np (thank god, some pt's you pl now are like "OMG, PL is leaving!!! Dude, pt break, we can't facking kill a lizard it will owns us." "Actually, we're 14 we should do crabs now" "Holy shitz no, I'm leaving." -_-) I'd told him I'd be back after I raised, and started my long trek fully expecting (and guiltily hoping) they would tell me someone else raised them. Least I hoped they would tell me if someone did =\. The response I got from pt leader was a bit odd, but I didn't think much about it. He said "You will? OMG LOL, um thank a looooooot man. Uh, we're at <pos> lol, you know where the beach is right?" I told him yeah, and then as an after thought told him to make sure and let me know if someone else raised them before I got there. All he said was "LOL, sure thing man."

I finally get there, and find their pt fighting crabs, no one dead. The leader (so pissed I can't remember his name, I think it started with an l, lauris or something I dunno) waves to me. I get there and asked had someone raised them already? Yeah I was a bit pissed, but it happens among the damn noobs. Oh well. But then he pissed me off "/s Na man, lol I was just joking. No one was dead I just wanted to show my pt that I can get someone to help out anytime. Thanks anyways man."

This is where I got pissed -_-.

Ok, so I don't blist the leader and his buddies, but I walk away. Their blm,who was silent the entire time sends me a tell. We talk for a bit. I just stand in the trees a bit away from the beach talking to him, planning to make myself a sandwich and cool off after I finished talking. He apologizes, which I accept gladly. Least everyone isn't a total ass. -_-. He says they where talking about the beach, but he said it was dangerous fighting pugils at their level, and that if they died there it would be hard to get a raise. (He had his HP at sandy dunno about the other people) "The leader argued for a bit, and said look I'll show you. If I can't get someone to come for a raise we'll leave ok?" He said forget about it, that he that was a mean thing to do and to just go ahead to the beach. He warned though (hell I would too) that if he died, he'd just leave the pt. Well the leader went ahead and did it anyways, and I guess I had the lucky number. When I got there he was all bragging about it and stuff "See I told you, a raise game." Well, he apologized several times, because he felt it was his fault. Anyways, at that moment our conversation got cut short because someone knocked on the door.

It was some girls doing fundraiser or something, maybe they were girl scouts because their cookies where the same the girl scouts sell.. and god do I love their cookies, I bought like 6 boxes. Anyways, I come back to find them dead and a long string of tells from the asses.

Leader: "Dude, I'm sorry about what I said. If you think about it, now you didn't come for nothing lol, could you plz raise us?"

He thought I had watched them die out of revenge. The others did too, but were less happy about it. Tells like "You little shit, I'm tired of high level cunts like you, you SAW us call for help and sent you tells but you didn't do anything, people like you are what makes this game so hard to enjoy" blah blah blah. Funny thing was, I had told the blm who I was talking to, afk someone at door, so he knew the truth. As much as i hated them, I would not of let them die had I been there, because I'd try and be the better man. Or maybe it was a deep need to prove them wrong, that I'm not just some high level ass. Anyways, I found it funny as hell that the girls would entice me with my cookie love RIGHT before they got wiped. The blm told me it was like 10 seconds after I siad brb door, and when I come back I saw the their last member dieing before I realized what was happening. Maybe against my better judgment, I went over, raised the blm, healed him, after which we left the pt and used a scroll of warp. I laughing to myself (not feeling too guilty either) walked back to pl my friend. Gotta love karma.

Actually, that did happen to me to, in the good ol' dunes. Near the secret beach, someone in my party die. So I quickly search and ask a whm in the dunes, not in Jeuno, if they would be kind enough to raise someone at <pos> and I would compensate them for their time. I get a kk for answer....

5 minutes later, I'm thinking he should be close, so I tell me dead Rank 1 whinner to hold on, someone is coming.

12-15 minutes after the original tell, I ask the whm if he is close by (maybe he got held up raising someone else or taking care of a train). He says no, you're too far, sorry. :evil: Could'nt he have said so in the first place?????

Asking someone for a raise when not needed is mean, but saying you are ocming and do not is also.
