The level of the thief doesn't matter, Vang. All you are is your gear. A Vang can be bought. I'm more than you'll ever be before I equip a single piece, because you're nothing but a placeholder. A sack of inventory. You don't do anything. Right now you have two ninja relics on you that have me written all over them. You're welcome.

I didn't need mark to kill sozu. I don't need mark to kill a 200 xp tarantula. It just lets me sub warrior at the sozu camp. Sozu killed me from a throat stab followed by a critical on my first attempt. Marksmanship on a /nin though? lol I'm not the gimp. I don't need mark to stay alive. You do, smallfry. Marksmanship is relatively useless. I never leveled mark on purpose. It capped on its own. I dont' have to cast Ichi on a tough check, and sleeping a mob only slows me down. The blind bolts wear before the stones get to camp anyway. So...what does mark do again? Merit points? Obviously my time is worth more than yours. The difference between me and you: you're stupid enough to waste your time skilling up like the attention-spanning cave troll that you are. Now mine is higher. Mine is capped. Your time is worthless, I get it. I'm not you.

You can talk about what stats I didn't have until 74 all you want. All your thief is, and ever will be, is a little whore begging for NMs to pay it. Even when BoL is kind enough to let you in the alliance and touch something. It's a match made in heaven. Number one NM-begging whore, reduced to nothing but some endgame joke of a shell's TH pawn. Might as well beg the NMs for drops in shout and make the transition from forum racist biggot to server pawn complete.

You want me to get god items because that's your thing now that you found your niche in the whipping boy shell? Cashmere cloths? Shining cloths? How unoriginal and uninspired. What are they, 12 milion a piece? 20? Give me four weeks. I could send a quarter of my linkshell up to get endgame craft fodder and still have enough power to decimate windurst. ask any thief that's ever killed sozu if they used blind, acid, or bloody bolts. ask them if they think they would have died without them. ask any respected thief on this server if they use bolts for soloing harder things, and ask them if they would operate as well without them.

marksmanship isn't the sissys way out, it's a second option, a third hand, so to speak.

marksmanship is to thief as great sword or great axe is to dark knight, staff to paladin, sword to warrior, daggers to red mage.

The only BoL member who ever did anything for us was trixx. Astral flowed the windurst stone. The rest of you...trash. Took that trash out and was better for it. I should have never even given BoL members the benefit of the doubt that they weren't their image. Would have saved me a lot of trouble.

accidentally hit submit;

all of those aren't needed, but you're quite a better player if you have the option of using such. a thief in a party that can use bolts to remove(alot of times) the defense up or attack up of a mob is incredibly useful if you don't have a red mage or bard. dark knight is more effective end game with great sword, red mage solos better with daggers, paladin tanks harder mobs better with staff after 62; swords are very good offhand weapons to warrior after 60 or so..

if you're trying to seriously tell me that any of that is stupid to use, you have most of the server against you.

Killed 11 times, never bolted him once. Thanks for asking. He is a EP, folks. If you have to sleep or bloody him to live subbing nin, you're a gimp. I rarely went to ichi, and never went orange save for the first throatstab on the first claim.

Now if he was T, that's bolt time. I have to bolt tarantulas. I don't know what your all's problem is.
 
Marksmanship is not relatively useless as THF. It's a very valuable tool in a THF's arsenal.

Don't let your ego argue for you. Maybe there's a bigger egomaniac out there that doesn't need /NIN.

Mark is useful, or at least has its uses. If I did it over again, I wouldn't skill it up though. The only way I'd waste my time with mark on a leveling thief is if I leveled ranger first and had it by default. Chain 5 IT's was good enough for me from 30-75. Never got any complaints about inadequacy, never thought lfp times were unbearable. CCB or bomb core for me. Honestly that I got to 75 before capping any stat is a testament to how little they matter. I imagine if I leveled more slowly I would have had time to cap something. My evasion didn't even cap until after my first merit. I capped mark on popping stones in dynamis with blinders.

Gimp? How? I went too fast. It didn't hold me back. I sure as heck wouldn't pop anything but an initial acid bolt on anything below a Tough check. The whole sleep->sneak attack thing...waste of time if you ask me unless you are desperate for shadow timer cooling and are about to get throttled.

Of course you don't need it. Anyone who plays and understands THF would find at the very least, several uses for marksmanship, let alone the number of other things THF can use that THF might want in various situations.

How about Club, H2H, Sword...?
Ever want to participate in a skillchain with someone doing weapon skills for a trial weapon? Ever want to help someone get some papyrus for G1?

THF is supposed to a versatile job to begin with, and capping out anything THF can use is only to everyone's advantage. The fact that you got to 75 without Marksmanship is testament to nothing aside from you own density. It took you that long to A) realize what it's uses are, and/or B) want to give credit to those that had educated you on the topic in the past.

Baj and Vang both mentioned it to you, and I'm sure others made comments along the way. You just didn't want to give them any credit by taking their advice...


Marksmanship makes a much bigger difference to THF than a bomb core.

I leveled mark by default like I always planned on doing. Don't blame me you're too dense to not waste hours of your life when you could have capped it in two days. Don't blame me you're too incompetent to not chalk acid bolts in a xp party as insignificant benefit.

Maybe you're the type who needs all the +1 and advantage they can get to overcome their core deficit, which is the player behind the character. Sounds like it.
 
By the way, fanboys, I was talking to vang. I don't remember asking for anyone else to respond. Were you that starved for attention?
