Firestreak i totally agree with you

Guys and Girls who play female characters in-game often know they will get better treatment. People who never leave their homes, and try to use FFXI as a complete substitute for their real life, actually do indeed help female characters and hit on them too, trust me, I've watched a guy hit on my male friend who plays a mithra character, it disgusting. I hate it when a guy or girl plays a female character and expects some sort of unique treatment, yes not all do this but please, it's really lame. ^_^

Goddamn, gender has nothing to do with ability in-game. And trying to hit on THE VIRTUAL REPRESENTATIONS OF GIRLS YOU WILL NEVER MEET ON A FUCKING COMPUTER is about the lamest thing ever. If anyone says "ooo I'm a girl I need help killing these mean ol' bunnies" is stupid because this isn't real life, they are not physically weaker in Vana'diel (hell, I'm not even sure if girls are less strong than guys now, I've seen some very built women wandering around.) All they are trying to do is to capitalize on their gender, if that even is their real gender. There's a guy in my ls whom I know in real life who plays a girl character just for the hell of it.
Bottom line, sexism in a digital, anonymous realm is the dumbest thing ever. Even dumber than Dan Quayle.

First, reread these posts. This isn't 'sexist anti-female stuff'. Guys will still bow down and worship the ground you walk on in real life, no worries there. 8) The thing most of them are getting at is there shouldn't be the same differential treatment in game. Of course there are whiners for help from both sides, but when was the last time you saw a male whine "I need help because I'm a weak guy and you shouldn't be mean to me because I'm a guy." I've seen that statement from female characters on occasion, but never males (they have whined before, but not used their gender as a reason for preferintial treatment). It's the use of their sex to get extra help that we all are opposing. This thread is trying to say we don't want special treatment for either based on their characters sex along with flaming a specific player. If you have never bugged anyone to help you based solely on the fact you are a girl, then there is no reason for any of this thread to get on your nerves. You would be the model of what we want more females to act like. Don't be so soft skinned about stuff not even attacking you.

Second, that avatar is huge. It's really messing up the forum format. Trying shrinking it or make it your signature instead.

guess i could just block images from that server, but I might miss something if she hosted same place as someone else
(as has happened when i block some people's sigs/avatars, and others host theirs or a different pic on that site...can't see :cry: )

In all honesty it takes two for these situations to arise. True, guys usually over react when they know its a girl, but that over reaction usually stems from the girl flaunting it (eg: over sized avatar of a cute girl or asking for help because they are a girl). While the reaction of guys might not have been intended by the females, it is directly related and thus you do hold some responsibility (as do the males) in what happens. Just for clarity's sake, a girl wears a skirt so short you can see her panties to school, of course she's going to get stares and whistles. While the stares and whistles aren't directly her fault, they are a result of her actions and thus she holds partial responsibility for the situation. No one is free of blame in.
