I wasn't going to flame this guy, honestly. Normally I'm not one for starting flames on people. But there's just so much suck going on, that even after 2 days I'm still amazed, so I wanted to share this story.

So Wednesday night we find ourselves with 5/6 linkshell people for meriting. We had NIN, THF, MNK, WAR, and me as RDM. We decide we're gonna try the mamool at Tandijia Isle, so we need a whm for extra healing if we're gonna do that. We pick up Keeblerx. I'm a little skeptical cause of the stupid-ass name, but everyone deserves a shot, right?

As we're starting the move from Whitegate to the camp, Keeblerx keeps mting all kinds of shit. We ask him what's up, and he apologizes and says his linkshell is doing prime fights, and that's what the mts are about. Ok. We all get to camp, and Keeblerx is still fucking around in Whitegate. We end up waiting like 20 minutes for him to get to us.

Soon as he gets to camp, Osse (who was leader) says buff up and we'll get started. Keeblerx instead throws up sneak/invis and runs off, saying "I'm gonna scout the other camps". First off, the other camps have colibri, which we didn't want to fight (our NIN had even gotten increased food duration on the assumption of mamool). Secondly, the other camps are past a drop-off, which means to get back we'd have to go back to Whitegate and run back again, taking another 10 mins. But he's already off the ledge before anyone can say boo, so we're fucked. He says the camp is open, so we make the best of a shitty situation and follow him down. We didn't want to fight birds, but we sure as hell can't fight mamool now. Of course as we're dropping down the ledge another party is also dropping down, so we end up with 2 parties in the shitty spot the whm led us (which only really supports one camp). Lovely.

Soon as we get to camp, I send Keeblerx a /tell asking him who he wants me to haste. He never responds. I just start hasting everyone, not giving a shit if my haste overwrite any he casts. At this point it's blatantly obvious that having the WHM in this camp fighting birds makes him dead weight. He has full MP the entire time, and I rarely drop below 80%. We decide to fight wivres as well, since colibri are way easy and the other party is taking them anyway.

As we're fighting the wivres and Keeblerx has to actually start doing shit, it makes me realize how much he fucking sucks. I was already hasting everyone as it was, because he refused to coordinate with me. I never saw him cast regen on anyone. He basically only cured, and when he did he almost always used Cure 4. He NEVER cast Cure 5, only 4 and sometimes 3. He got hate at least once from doing this. Another funny tidbit is he had a Nobles tunic, yet for some reason when we started on wivres and his mp actually was less than 95%, he swapped to Vermillion cloak. My mind is still boggling at that one.

After we kill our second wivre, Keeblerx says "sorry something came up unexpectedly gotta go" and immedaitely disbands and starts teleporting out as Osse is mid-pull on a colibri. At that point we'd fought maybe a half-dozen birds and the 2 wivres when he'd ditched us. Wanna guess what the "something unexpected" was that came up? Well, I did a /sea on him about 15 minutes later and he was in Cloister of Ice. That's right, the unexpected crisis was the prime fights that he'd been MTing about a full 30 minutes ago, before any of us actually even left Whitegate and started to camp.

We ended up continuing on with just the 5 of us against birds, and do just fine because this guy really was just dead weight. The only reason we'd invited him in the first place is because we wanted to do mamool, but he screwed us out of that right at the start.

lol wow thats so bad.

too bad no one asked me to play, not like i wasnt online or anything.

</3

You've got no room to talk Falsey, we were asking for linkshell people a full 30 mins before we gave up and invited that waste of oxygen.

Sorry I must have not been reading LS. Next time send personalized invite in form of gil, or other high ticket items.

Anyone who WANTS to fight colibri when the mamool camp is open is a complete douche. Why would you want worse xp? Ditching a pt for a stupid reason? He must be related to Sheladaris. His next pt will get to hear "afk narcolepsy".

I love the camps there, but those ledges need to be treated like women. Start at the top, work your way down.

Too bad I'm not back yet=/ I really want 75 ; ;!

You have to consider though, a frozen goddess or Fellina?

Poor sucker, sorry that happened to you Fell. Isn't Keebler a cookie brand or something, with all of those little optimistic elves?

Well, if we had had more piercing attacks (RNG, DRG, more THF) then it's a good option. But yeah, it wasn't what we had set out, or set-up to do.

Keeblerx did give me a warning about 10 minutes before he left. I didn't convey it to the rest of the pt because:
A) We didn't need to replace him. Btexpress barely took any damage tanking the colibri. Hell, he even did pretty well when I still pulled a Wivre or two with 5 of us. No need for another healer, and having 5 members boosted the xp a little.

B) I *couldn't* replace him. We had agreed to xp until a certain time, and by the time we got there and got set it was only destined to be a 75 minute party as it was. It would have been pretty shitty to invite a 6th to come for what would be 30 minutes of xp for them.

Off topic: Why don't any of the cannons there pull the Wivre? We got chain 6 on one of them with 5 people and no BRD. I guess we did have to rest mp for a minute afterwards, but with a BRD we probably wouldn't have had to rest. I did about 800 damage on a SA+DE with a shitty NIN sub; I'm sure a decent WAR with Berserk up could still seriously hurt one of those.

I like wivre hides.

the frontal physical shield effect on them i suppose or the higher stats and boiling blood, require a bit more work and mp than regular colibri.

I'm guessing though, wivre can take a bit of a beating unlike colibri and repop fast if the exp spot is empty or it's just one more pt there. I'm throwing that out there though Doc. but that's my take on it.

That guy need to sell that Vermy cloak to AH and buy a clue.

Wivre Hides are awesome.
Most people don't like fighting them because of the AOE attack down which tends to mutilate killspeed. Need two mages who are very fast with Erase in order for it to carry along well, and even then there's the chance they use it again soon after, which can become a pain.

i am almost done moving should be complete come monday or so, i am up for some merits on the wivre or anything with people i know either directly or people who are known by the other people in the pt. no more random invites to people though. people like keeblerx is why i stopped leveling my war at 63 and did bst, because i don't sit around seeking to get in a pt so the whm can port out after like 20 minutes.

I'm guessing he wasn't an elf, and he didn't have any cookies. D:

It's astonishing how many WHMs don't know about Cure V. I've told so many WHMs about the enmity reduction and potency boost, you'd think they'd know about their own job.

kind of dumb question here, but if hate control isn't a problem then why use cure V for small heals? I've seen a few whms use it for such and it just shoots through the mp bar faster...

If it's a "small heal" you should be using 3. If there's enough HP missing that 3 won't cover it, then you should be using 5 for the reduced emnity.

Oh, and Keeblerx was a taru, not an elf, and no he didn't have cookies.

I'm no WHM, so if foolish things come out of my mouth, disregard them. But here goes.

Of course you wouldn't use it for small heals. But, if I understand correctly, Cure V is a great deal more MP efficient than IV for major wounds. For small amounts of HP, the difference between Cure IV and two Cure IIIs is 4 MP and a substantial amount of enmity. You also have Regen III, which owns several types of ass. So why use Cure IV?

Hate control IS a problem if you're tossing around IVs. It's basically what Jojojo said. If it's small wounds, 3 should be more than enough. If it's big, just go for a 5. It's not as horrible on MP as you'd think if you aren't using it frequently, and with Cure IV, you will be turning things. It's rarely worth it.
