"It all started in the dunes..." :P

I deleveled to 11 (still pretty close to 12) and got a new party.
This one had a PL'r attached to one guy. He was paid to go from
10-15. The rest of us were just along for the ride.

but that wasn't REALLY the whole coolness factor. It was my
very first cannon party. There was a post about those and I
finally got into one. We didn't care too much about pt setup because
of the PL. We had:

BLM RNG RNG RNG THF and (who knows?)

Since I was ahead of the PL'r guy I almost made it to 16.
WOW :shock: 11/12 to almost 16 very quickly.
Sure the PL helped but the 3 RNG and the BLM were just Murdering
goblins and snippers.

That was my best dunes experience ever and I may want
to explore the "Cannon Party" thing more. I could be an addict.

the PL'r was already paid but I felt I had been given a free ride.
So I gave him more gil. I am not sure what is fair price and
don't know what he was already paid. So I gave him an extra 20k.

I have no idea if it is too much or too little but it felt like a good
amount for all of his time.
 
sounds like a fair deal.

btw, i normally don't see cannon parties being established until later on, and not so early as in the dunes :shock:

Pretty sweet for a cannon party, i started a second character
and i kept deleveling due to the party leaders :| i hate the dunes
 
Wow Duffman....the exact thing happened to me while I was lvling my thief in the dunes! I was invited to this "cannon" party when I was lvl 10! I got to 15 before the PL'er said <I'm Sleepy>. I think I paid the PL'er 5000 gil anyway....I was so happy I got through the worst lvls of thief!

Oh btw...PT set-up was PLD RNG RNG BLM BLM ME

Great thing about that party duffman is that it was almost a REAL cannon party, the kind you can make without a PL. I'd say just sub out the thief with a ninja and add in maybe a rdm with good mp for healing and there ya go. Of course if you were the thief that wont work out, but that is a pretty good setup, especially when those Rng get utsu. Best place to learn about such things is Quifim I found. Thief can actually work at that point. You get a Ninja tank at about level 18-19 and just STACK the deck in your favor. I would go at 18 because its gonna go really really fast. Just have the ninja tank voke and stand outside melee range...they can throw, cast, what you will. Even shoot I think because there are bows they can use at that level. Then just get like 2 Blm and 3 Rng. You will smoke worms faster than you can believe. THAT is where it all started for me.
