I'd like to know if anyone has any data (test results) showing which of the two bodies below, parse better on MNK for both TP and weaponskills.

(Black Belt, Faith Torque and Usukane gear are not currently available, so preference that these items not be factored into the response)

I don't have any parses to back up my claim, but from my understanding Asuran Fists has such low modifiers that it's in your best interest to stack accuracy and attack in any slot you can. Especially since it's an eight-fold WS.

As for TPing, I've heard something on Osode possibly beating Togi because of the Dex for crits, but I still find that hard to believe. That and I've been raised as a Mnk under the belief that Osode doesn't come close in comparison to Togi for TP (though I'm sure it's still decent if you have nothing else), so I'm probably a bit biased. Honestly I'd just stick to Togi for both unless someone can actually pull up any parse data that suggests otherwise.

Togi wins. Let the Osode during TP phase die.

shura togi is better for asuran fists. Being 10% STR VITmod , you need to increment your STR+VIT by increments of 30+ if I recall, to add one WSC damage, which is retarded. And osode only has 10vit + 10 str= 20 stats. So in the end only the 5 Attack 5 acc and 2 fstr that come from osode's 10 str 10 dex, matters really, which is less boost than what 20 attack gives you.

That's why attack is always better. Asuran fist is basically 8 melee hits boosted, and should do approximately 9-10x your average melee dmg. The only thing that beats shura togi is the acp body ( 10 acc 10 str), and usukane body when you want to stack on accuracy ( 16 acuracy, 8 str) or need the store tp: 18 tp return can be nice.

Thank you for the feedback.

I am hoping though to have some actual parsing data that can prove that Shura Togi is better though, because as much as people will say "Shura is better" i've heard many say the same about the Kirin's Osode. And when it comes down to it, the numbers will be the best proof as to which is better.

One source that claims that Kirin's Osode is better can be found here: http://genomeffxi.livejournal.com/profile

The link that actually gives data supporting that the Kirin's Osode is better, can be found here: http://genomeffxi.livejournal.com/13332.html

So if anyone happens to have any data to show which is better, it would be greatly appreciated.

The people that say Osode is better are usually people who haven't tested it at all or looked into the numbers, they just go "well, it's just definitely better. want mine for 3m?"

thats a very old site that came up once in a BG thread and well, very 2005. First he doesnt show up his full gear set up which matters. second he doesnt show up his sample size. When you want to compare togi vs osode you need to have thousands of samples, and statistical data controls...

For example, something people never think about when testing multihit WS, is you need to select your samples and only chose those where all your 8 hits land ( since the goal is to compare the max dmg on capped accuracy). For all we know his sample could be very small ( one exp pt) with diffrent buffs, he could have been lucky and miss less hits when using osode. The math formulas ruling asuran fist and H2H damage are all well known. The only time osode comes close to togi is when accuracy is caped ( sushi if necessary) but then osode gives at best 3 base dmg and 5 attack to your weapon ( 2 from fSTR, one from at most str+vit), while togi gives 20 attack which is comparable to +4-5dmg depending on attack buffs. And this is ignoring boost, which favors togi.

For uncapped accuracy it makes no doubts togi wins, because it also has more accuracy.
